Chris, as mentioned most RV parks can accommodate a 43-45 foot coach but on occasion I hve had some say they cannot. I always try and look on-line at their web site - or more exact look at the campgroundreviews.coml to see if big rigs are one of the check boxes. In the past we traveled without reservations and made them as we were traveling, and especially a week or more before holidays. Schools out - lots of rv'ers and the camping is on the upswing, Now with that said, remember that a lot of Federal and State parks were built when rv's were travel trailers 21-23 feet long. Yes, there are some that can accommodate the larger rigs but it is safe to go on-line or call to make sure. We have a 43' and love it.

I don't want to bust bubbles but a weight rating o 26,001 pounds or more is considered a commercial vehicle by Federal Law. Now, having said that, states have "exemptions" when it comes to some vehicles like motorhomes. But they are, by Federal Law still commercial vehicles. That is why in Texas a requester of a Class A or B license for a vehicle over 26,001 pounds has to fill in a CDL-2 form. Search on Texas CDL-2. Yes, I know, RV's are exempt and that is the purpose of the CDL-2.

Wow! Having read this subject on other forums there is quite a controversy over many items regarding EZPass. For what it is worth: Last year we decided to take an East Coast trip and went to Florida, Disney World, and then up th East Coast. We had no problems with the North Cariolina EZ Pass which I ordered through the phone system. It worked in all the states listed on their web site. The portable transponder was $7.50 and it also came with a stick on transponder. I placed the portable transponder in the center bottom of the motorhome windshield. In conversation with the NC EZPass authorities it was stated to not use the stick on. The TOAD would be read and charged by the MH transponder. When the car is disconnected and used for sight seeing just take the portable transponder out of the MH and place it in the car. Worked for me. Very very recently I communicated with the NC EZPass authorities because I noticed that my account had the MH as 2 axles. I have a tag axle also. When I queried them by email. Here is that communications: "Thank you for contacting the NC Quick Pass Customer Service Center Support Team. We appreciate your time and effort in contacting us. We would be happy to assist you with your inquiry. No, this will not be a problem. Herman, exactly and my point was that even though we have different manufactures we have similarities and same problems between manufacturers. Also, it would behoove us all to read our own manufacturers manual for the proper operation and maintenance. I posted that my Mfg recommends silicone spray and not WD-40. Big difference in the properties. I wouldn't want anyone to use the wrong product and have a repair claim denied. Mike, or Jim, if y'all ever discover a fix for that problem please post the solution, Others with the same equipment will definitely benefit.

Just for information purposes since the OP is on HWH, "If jacks are extended for long periods of time, it is recommended to spray exposed jack rods with a dry silicone lubricant every three months for protection. If the coach is located in a salty environment, it is recommended to spray the rods every four to six weeks."

Pat, that is a nice 5'er and a Tiffin owned company. I looked for specs on type of awning but I could not find anything. Does that 5'er have a pull-ou bay under the King Pin? Saw that once in a 5'er and what a bunch of room that was.

We find places but sometimes it takes a few calls. We like KOA, even though they are a little more expensive and we are KOA Members so 10% discount. What we like is the on-line reservations system. Log in, check the campground, click book - done deal. You travel in better circles than we do. ?

Ray, thank for the information. My last MH said use transmission fluid or silicone. Apparently HWH uses WD-40 and that is what I'll start using. I have not cleaned mine on this MH but it is time to do so. Again, thanks.

Even the spring powered up if lubed with a fluid will cause that fluid to contact the rubber seal.
