  1. Now Carl, no where did I say it was the current Cummins recommendation. Although I think it is for the newer 2019 engines running DEF. The heads up on lack of downward compatibility comes from, https://www.api.org/products-and-services/engine-oil/eolcs-categories-and-classifications/oil-categories#tab-diesel-f-category 😄 Like Brett said, and you do know he is Mister Cat. He can answer any Cat questions. Bill
  2. You need to provide some proof to that statement. Because I think you will find out that a correctly formulated multigrade oil not only protects the engine at startup, but also throughout the life of the engine. You might want to read Cummins Engineering Standards – 20086 This is a list of approved oils. Endorsed and Recommended by Cummins - Valvoline™ Premium Blue™ including the 5-40 synthetic are first on the list, because they have a marketing arrangement with Valvoline. Under that is the Alternatives and, in that list, you will find the Shell including the T-6. One outher point. If Shell thought there was a chance their oil (including the T-6) could cause a problem why would the offer a 10 year 500,000 mile warranty??? I have a 5.9 Cummins.😁 One last thing to keep in mind in the future as the new API FA-4 oils become more available/prevalent. API FA-4 oils are not interchangeable or backward compatible with API CK-4, CJ-4, CI-4 with CI-4 PLUS, CI-4, and CH-4 oils. Refer to engine manufacturer recommendations to determine if API FA-4 oils are suitable for use. Bill
  3. Welcome to the forum. You can use any of your credit cards. (don't use a debit card) just let the bank/company know that you will be in Canada so they don't think it was stolen and lock it. I would notify a couple card s just because like here some places only like certain cards. Have a great trip. Bill
  4. Well getting ready to do my annual oil change. I run Shell Rotella T-6 5-40 full synthetic. I decided look online and see if shell was still doing a rebate. They still are but they change the rules. Now you can only get 2 rebates per household so if you buy 5 gallons of oil (in gal bottles) you can only get rebates on 2 gallons of $7.00ea or $14.00 if you just buy the gallons. I found they sell it at Walmart in 2.5-gallon containers this will allow you to get a rebate on each one of $17.50 or $35 for the two. https://rotella.shell.com/en_us/coupons-rebates-and-sweepstakes/better-fuel-economy-meets-better-wallet-economy.html#iframe=L0RJWS90NXQ2Lw== This is actually better than the last program because you could only get $5.00 on 4 gal containers or $20.00 total.😄 Bill
  5. Another place to look at quality use coaches is Motorhomes of Texas. They have some nice coaches. http://motorhomesoftexas.com/ Tell me what you think. Bill
  6. Sometimes it is best to pass. Are you just looking at Monaco's? www.pplmotorhomes.com Has several. Bill
  7. You won't have a problem as long as you know how to manually downshift to keep your power up so you don't lug the engine. Bill
  8. I think what jleamont was asking is after it makes contact with the roof structure. Does the substructure feel mushy? It looks like a defiant bargaining point to me. Bill
  9. There is no modern car that records mileage when being towed. Something you should be aware of. When you hook up geting ready to tow. After you shut the car off, you need to pump the brake pedal to bleed off the vacuum for the brakes. Otherwise you can get some over aggressive braking till it bleeds off. Bill
  10. Shawn, I don't see any problem. With any large vehicle you will have to adjust to how it drives. Ask if you have any questions. Do you have any experience driving a big rig? Bill
  11. It does look like delamination to me. I can't tell if the plywood underneath is buckled or it has just pulled loose from the underlayment. I would also be concerned with the sealant job to the right by the awning. Bill
  12. I know yo miss being back home with the -30 windchill blowing snow in your face while you fight the snow blower.🤩 Bill
  13. I don't know of anyone who does better work than Ernie. Bill
  14. Ron, welcome to the forum. Do you have the Allison transmission? What are you looking to improve? Bill
  15. When I had a class "C" I was lucky that it had a spare. I would absolutely recommend all class "C" owners weigh their coach. I found that the one I had built on a Ford cutaway chassis still had standard van light truck tires. After the conversion was done it was way over weight for the original tires. I upgraded to load range "E". So how are all the post about spares and location on your bus helpful to the OP in a class C forum? Bill
  16. When you get ready to do the repairs I would apply heat (heat lamps) and maybe try some vacuum to dry out the interior of the wall. Your friend who does boat fiberglass repair (you have to see if there is water in the core) should have on. Maybe he will let you borrow it. Bill
  17. The rodeo in NJ started the same year they started the indore weekley rodeo in FW 1929. The Fat stock show started in 1896.😉 In fact the FW show was organised a year earlier by a woman. Oklahoma cowgirl: Lucille Mulhall. Bill
  18. I was down in the Ft Worth Stockyards this afternoon and was reminded it is the start of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Link to a little history. https://fwssr.com/history/ Bill
  19. Good. Make shure they understand you don't want old tires. Find out the date code so you know how old they are. I would be looking for a different dealer but that's just me. Road trip to Reno.😄 Bill
  20. Now that we have hashed out that the XIZ is not the best tire for your RV (what is it buy the way, curious) and the dealer can't get XRV. I would do as Brett suggested. Contact Michelin directly to verify status/schedule for delivery. Michelin 866-866-6605. Let us know what you find out. Bill
  21. After doing some more research I can't recommend them. One of the main reasons is they are only a 65 mph rated tire. Look at the link Kay posted. Just to make shure you know how to read the date codes so you get tires less than 3 months old, right? Bill
