  1. My problem is I spent over 40 years where it had to be torqued to an exact number. While Your setup will work for that one application I am looking at something like this. https://www.amazon.com/Neiko-03715B-2-Inch-Multiplier-1100-Feet-Pound/dp/B0017K5ARU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1477324310&sr=8-4&keywords=torque+wrench+multiplier Bill
  2. Yes this coach introduced me to pex. I have about 3ft of 1/2 pex and an assortment of fittings. Most are "shark bite" so I don't need to crimp them. Bill
  3. If it gets to cold in Snowflake you can visit the part of south Texas known as the Valley. Lots of places to stay around McAllen. Bill
  4. Glad you got it fixed and thanks for coming back and sharing with us what the fix was. Bill
  5. Welcome to the forum. Thank you for your service. I like the name kind of fits with the military way of having acronyms for everything. Bill
  6. I am not sure about your thermostat but try this. Pull the front cover off. See if there is a fuse, remove the fuse and check it then put the (good) fuse back in and see if that helps. Bill
  7. I am a big fan of Blue Ox and I haven't heard of any verifiable problems with them. I also like that when I disconnect my toad I don't have all that towbar sticking on the front. You have to look close to see it is set up to tow. My towbar is rated to 10,000 pounds so I can tow nearly anything I can get a base plate for. Bill
  8. Lets start with going back and reviewing the owner's manual and following it step by step. Just in case you are overlooking something. Then tell us what make slide out mechanism you have. Look at the bright side at least it is in and you can drive. Bill
  9. I have seen CB antennas clamped to the top of the drivers side miere I think they just drilled a hole through the wall and sealed it. Bill
  10. Where did you get the multiplier, what brand ? Bill
  11. We added a memory foam pad to our mattress to make it a little better. Are you talking about the switch or the pump itself? Did you get any documentation with the coach? I don't have much experience with the older gas Bounders. The pump may be in the compartment forward of the fresh water hook up and sewer dump. Look on the main control panel (master switch) and for a switch and near the sink. There may be one by the bathroom sink to. Bill
  12. I wouldn't worry about running your dash air. Same basic system but different refrigerant. If you worked on the R-12 systems you could work on your R-134 system you just need different gages and the proper refrigerant. I hear of few problems with dash air. They really have gotten better in the last 40 years. So run that dash air and enjoy. Bill
  13. Sounds like a good plan to me. I have had people just stare when I tell them we are going some place (say Maine next summer) and they say how long will it take you and I say I don't know. Then the question is when will you be back, I git weird looks when I say before Thanksgiving. Most people can't imagine being gone for more than 2 weeks maybe 3 at the most. Like some have said it is nice to travel at your own pace, if you see something interesting stop and explore it. Bill
  14. Keon, I bet you haven't stopped smiling since you got home. Carl, I hope natural gas prices go up now that I am a royalty owner. Bill
  15. Y....e....p. but we get to do it all day every day. Bill
  16. Going down the coast is warmer. I would look at 90 west to 395 south to 182 around Kennewick to 82 and then follow 84 to Portland then I-5 down to Albany and take 20 to the coast. Or you can just go down I-5 and hope the pass is clear. Bill
  17. I know but just wait it is as good as you have heard, to have time to travel. Bill
  18. I am with you,300 miles a day or about 6 hours. I don't have to be in a hurry. I also wonder if the OP who started this thread back in August 3, 2011 ever got their diesel coach. Bill
  19. Welcome to the forum. I would think going down the 101 would offer the best weather. After you get down into Calafornia you could move to I-5 to LA you can use the 210 around LA then take I-10 into Phoenix. Bill
  20. Yes that day is coming. But till then. Bill
  21. That is good for removal but most say not to use them to torque lug nuts. I want the ability to do my own removal and installation just because. The main reason is I don't want to take it to someone if I need to do maintenance items that require the removal of a wheel. brakes seals etc. Bill
  22. When I had my new Michelin tiers installed it was at a truck place and I caught the guy installing the rims on my CR-V like it was a truck with the big impact wrench. I told him to take them all lose and torque to the 80 foot pounds specced my Honda. Some places just don't know. Bill
  23. Welcome to the forum. Where in the "Southern Tier" do you live. I spent some time this last summer at Chautauqua lake. I would recommend looking for a side radiator it makes access better than a rear radiator. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me as I have a rear radiator coach and haven't had any problems with access. You should not get hung up on the 500HP or nothing matra as most coaches are not going to have that engine. All diesel coaches have enough power to climb any hill you just need to learn to drive them. Yes the 500hp coach will need to downshift to make it over some hills. Bill
  24. There are some 16 year olds I would trust before some of the seniors that are driving motorhomes now. Bill
