  1. All you need extra is the sweet potatoes, eat the sweets, and chuck the meats.
  2. Just for information purposes, and not trying to be controversial. Coke or any soda pop for that matter, uses CO2 gas as their effervescence and while raising the temperature causes the gas to leave, leaving only the flavor behind which in turn does make it a good flavoring for some dishes. Wine and or all alcoholic beverages likewise the boiling effect completely destroys the alcohol content and leaves only the flavor behind and will not cause the buzz effect. Apple juice and many other juices do likewise as a flavoring. Just got through cooking my beef roast in the IP and it sure smells good! Richard here is a youtube video of a 12 volt IP.
  3. I use wifi extenders frequently, what are you trying to improve, This information will give us a chance to point you in the right direction, many people think that a wifi extender will give better reception to devices other than a computer or cell phone. A wifi extender will work fine for extending the signal of an existing wifi connection, including the ranger brand. I was not aware that Wingard made such a device, they usually make devices to get better reception on a hotspot, these are completely different devices.
  4. Although your story should not be the norm, it usually is. Not at all unusual for the tow truck driver to not accept CC's. One small lesson to learn, is to demand a confirmation number and write it down on the first call, many times your cell number is misdialed either due to miscommunications on our part, or simply a misdial by the provider. I play the organ, and recently received a text by a bereaved person instructing what songs to play for the funeral. I did not know the person texting nor the deceased, I texted back with my condolences and to inform the texter to check the number and resend the text to the appropriate person. Things happen sometimes not to our liking, and while you are patiently sitting on the side of the road seems like the time that it always does. Better luck in the future, keep smiling hope you have many happy tales, and trails.
  5. And here is a listing for the combo socket that I use so I only need to carry one socket to fit either. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-Drive-1-1-2-X-13-16-Bud-Wheel-Socket-Wrench-Truck-Budd-Wheel-2-In-1-Combo/142619937105?hash=item2134cf8951:g:LEsAAOSw3gJZITnk:rk:3:pf:0
  6. This is the way I wired mine and the only way I will ever wire one. Foretravels are great coaches.
  7. I'm glad it's going now and you did not have to give up the gold crowns. Way to go!
  8. Herman, hub pilot actually rides on the hub, center hole of the rim is the almost exact as the hub, the stud holes are straight through instead of tapered. As Carl said stud pilot the lug nuts are tapered like the lug nuts on your car and pickup truck, and of course the lug holes are slightly larger than the stud and dependent of the lug nuts causing the wheel to center because of the taper. Alcoa wheels and labeled as such are actually Arconic brand, Accuride is just another manufacturer of wheels, they probably use Alcoa aluminum also but are not authorized to use the name. Hope you learned something new today Herman, it's hard get a new one on you. As DD69 described, the dual inside is threaded on the inside with a shoulder which holds the inner wheel in place with a larger set of male threads after the shoulder to hold the outer wheel, there is a square end on the inner nut that requires a square nut driver to tighten that nut, then a 1.5 tapered hex nut to hold the outer wheel in place, these are commonly called Bud wheels. I have the socket for installing this type, the inner of the socket contains the square driver, and the outside is the 1.5 hex socket.
  9. I don't think that accuride wheels are stud pilot (SP), all that I have ever seen are hub pilot (HP). (SP) are normally on coaches before 1990, as Bill said what make and year?
  10. I wish I had a rock hammer for mine, I could get a lot more done in 7 days with mine. LOL Since my place is on top of West Rock Mountain, true name of mountain and rock is literal.
  11. Well. it's pretty simple. I usually use 3 to four lbs roast beef, cut into 1X2 inch cubes, salt and pepper lightly, brown the cubes in the IP, then add 1 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 can water, 1 cup red wine, cut up an onion into the pot add some garlic powder, then put the lid on set the cooker for chicken, adjust the time to 45 minutes, start it up. I find the secret to making it tender is to leave the steam in the pot by not letting the steam off, when it cools down, the lid will unlock by itself. Enjoy! I forgot to add that I use this same recipe for beef short ribs also.
  12. Glad that you didn't have to throw a lot of money at it needlessly, good work on your part.
  13. I think that your problem may be more addressed toward how much load are you pulling from the battery bank than the fact that the panels are mismatched. How much load is being put on the battery? What is the stated output for each solar panel? Also remember that this wattage is in full sun, this time of the year most of us can only claim about 8 hours of sunshine, and with that in mind that 9 A should be divided by 3, which averages only 3 amps per hour, and at 12 volts, the actual battery stated output is only 36 watts per hour over a 24 hour period. In other words a probability for more panels to fulfill your consumption needs. If you let us know what max output wattage those panels are we can tell if they are functioning as expected or not.
  14. I'll stop watching TV before going back to the chiselers at dish!
  15. At many church functions, everyone loves my beef roast cooked in the instant pot, I use red wine mushroom soup and 3 to 4 pounds of beef roast, cook for 45 minutes then let it sit until the lock releases without letting off the steam. Just don't tell them about the wine! Carl, nothing better than a wood pellet for bbq!
  16. Are the steps Coachstep or Kwikee?
  17. The transfer switch (ATS) is the weakest link and most often overlooked in this type situation. A multimeter (VOM) can be your best friend for trouble shooting, but you should learn how to use safely. Good luck!
  18. If this is true, and probably is, then a careful look at the control module may reveal that a resistor is burned out. If an electronic guy has access to a schematic for that unit it should not be too expensive to repair. Although a new module may not be too bad anyway. I would start with the module before replacing the motor if it were mine. From your OP, I assumed that the bumping started before completing the cycle rather than at the end. Now one last thought, check the motor numbers and see if that is a stepping motor, not a step motor, we know that is what it is being used for, if it is a stepping motor, then make sure that the electricity is turned off, then turn the motor backward a full round, reconnect electricity and try cycling the unit. Good luck getting it repaired.
  19. My same thought. Great minds work in small circles, LOL.
  20. After rereading your post, the limit switch is a very likely suspect, it may have either come loose or has gotten into a position beyond the limits of the step electronics, if this the case, eminent damage of the unit will result.
  21. Like Rich suggested be sure to lubricate all moving parts well, I would also suggest to inspect for bent or broken parts also. If the step is prone to drag, it may have a bent or broken part somewhere within the assembly. If it does drag, you may want to check into some type of wheel assembly like many have put onto the rear of a motorhome to prevent tail dragging, except in your case, front end dragging. If the step goes out ok like you described, it does not sound like a bad motor yet, if it goes one way ok then the same motor must be working well, also it is the same gears for both in and out direction, so suspect binding for now rather than motor and gear.

    Air bag leak

After replacing 6 air bags a while back, when I fired up the coach and to my disappointment still had an air leak. Attached is a picture of the culprit. I posted this as a reminder to check all fittings while replacing these guys, it is much easier while the bags are still off than after the replacement of the bags have been made.
  24. That's what I like about Alabama, if you don't like the weather today, just wait till tomorrow, it will change.
  25. Be sure that you are aware 0f the Texas driver license law for RV's over 26,000 # before choosing that state, Florida still does not require one yet, don't know about South Dakota. Just search in the search above to see what some of our friends from Texas say about it. I am not saying anything bad about it, just making sure you are informed to help you make the right decision.
