  1. If you deflate the air bags then level the coach, the weight of the coach is off the tires. The suspension should have stops before the air bags get stretch. I also worry about overextending your jacks as some jacks can blow a seal when fully extended. Don't ask me how I know.
  2. Mine had the fuse number in chart inside panel same as Herman coach does. Once you get inside the compartment I had to remove two wingnuts from large inside panel.
  3. I'm leaving on the 10th from WA to southern CA as I do every year. What I do is take I-5 exit 99 to Seven Feathers RV Resorts and Casino on my way down and spend the night. I check first thing in the morning on TV and the pass cameras before I go through the passes. It takes the mystery out what condition the pass is before going. If it is bad I stay another night and be safe. If not so bad and expect to be clear before heading over then I go. The plow trucks work to clear up by day so trucks can get through this major interstate. Only one time did I have to stay a extra night. Good luck and safe travel.
  4. Left front outside panel has fuse for the shade. Mine blew because DW pressed up while at the same time I press down. That protected the motor from a short.
  5. dhgoins, With only 14,000 miles on it it might still have the original tires on it. If so I would get rid of them as it is a safety hazard to you and others on the road. Congrad on your new to you coach.
  6. Old plumber trick. At least 2 wraps of Teflon tape followed by pipe dope. Seals good and no corrosion of the threads. A very good reason for installing a anode is when I go for the winter there is mineral water that taste a bit salty. We don't cook or drink it as most people don't. Although I use a filter it doesn't get all the salt or other minerals out. I know that owning a boat in the past that salt in the water will destroy a motor in no time. Brett proves the point for the need as minerals and electrolysis so aluminum or not it gets a anode. Imagine 3 months of salty mineral water with no protection.
  7. Talk about additives. I just got diesel for my Jeep at a Chevron and now since it's been down in the 20s overnight darn thing is hard starting. At least the Shell station have the Power Service already in it for better starting. My bad.
  8. I have good news for those that have Atwood water heater. Camco makes a anode for it that replaces the drain plug. I cleaned out my water heater today and replace the drain plug with the anode plug. Piece of mind.

I haven't heard of this company but I do recommend getting a tire pressure monitor system no matter what company.
  10. LOL Wayne I'm not talking about city driving as the exhaust brake won't work until over 15 MPH. Stop and go traffic I'm talking about is like I-5 going through Seattle, Portland or other major cities that have a freeway going through it. I don't think I ever took my coach on a city street. Normal driving on a highway can be a pain with the exhaust brake on with fuel economy. I find that every little hill it coast down the exhaust wants to come on and I won't be able to use the cruise control. Stop and go traffic and down steep grades I leave it on. All other times I leave off. I'm still saving on my brakes.
  11. My DW stuff the refrigerator so full I don't like to even open the door and look inside. LOL
  12. Hello Tom, Like I said I leave the exhaust brake on in stop and go driving. What it does is let the exhaust brake and transmission keep the speed down if I need not to hit the brakes for small 4 wheeler cutting in and out. It cancel the cruise control and shut off below 15 MPH. I haven't noticed any loss in fuel mileage other than what you would lose in stop and go driving anyway. The exhaust brake do not turn on the injectors but rather may be turned off. Otherwise I use on steep grades again to minimize having to hit the brakes. This save the brake shoes from excessive wear and the drums from excessive heat, hot spots and warping. If I didn't use the exhaust brake or foot brakes going down grades the coach would speed down the grade like a runaway freight train. I check my owners manual and it states nothing about when to use. It does state that you may have to manually downshift the transmission if there isn't enough exhaust braking as it depends on engine RPM. I drive conservatively and know if leaving lots of space in front of my coach can get you cut off. I can show you a video of myself cruising at 60 MPH on I-10 and getting cut off by a double tractor trailer. There are lots of wackos out there so I rather be safe than sorry.
  13. Is it a seal on the pump or mattress? I fill mine with a Coleman portable pump and the one way valve and plug is on the mattress. The pump don't have a a seal on it as per picture in this link. http://www.target.com/p/coleman-high-performance-electric-pump/-/A-11115253
  14. Sounds like you have to swap out the inverter for a 120v one. Not knowing your coach and current inverter behind your TV makes it hard for us to answer this.
  15. I leave my exhaust brake on in stop and go traffic. It saves wear and tear on the coach and me.
  16. Had another storm yesterday and ran the generator for 9 hours. This time the generator has just been serviced by Valley Freightliner as I will be leaving for south early next month til spring.
  17. I know about computers as I have to have several in the shop, one for customers and accounting, another for reprogramming vehicles and an Android for diagnosing vehicles, I have 2 other Android smart phone and note pad to keep in touch. Then in the house there is 2 computers and the wife using using 2 Androids smart phone and kindle fire. Life use to be simple. Good luck what you have to contend with your computer.
  18. Looks to me more like Cadillac, Chevy, Lincoln
  19. Bob, When you compare basic service to platinum on gs or cn there is a big different. I'm not looking for the cheapest but the best of services. When I see complaints about the service the first question that come to mind is what level of service did they pay for. I'm willing to bet that many of those complaints paid for basic and expecting platinum. I don't expect to go in a Chevrolet dealership and but a Vega and expect it to ride and perform like a Caprice. That is why I had cheap I didn't make a fuss about not sending a mechanic to the campground because I didn't pay for that. My mistake but at least I would be towed to the nearest dealer if I was on the road. Being able to cancel AAA helps justify the extra cost to going to platinum but also have much more additional benefits. Thanks for your feedback. Herman and Bill thank you for your feedback also. Judatt I don't know anything about blue sky, I guess if someone that knows don't see it here it may be best to post a new thread.
  20. I believe that I had GS basic before at only $79.95 per and may be why not covered at campground. I believed that I did three years for a better deal. So now they are offering renewal at 109.95 per year for Platinum level that covers so much more. I guess I got what I paid for and reason I looking at disclaimers and not covered.
  21. I seen some disclaimers that I may be afraid of on FMCA or I be signed up now. I'm sure all have their limitation so I not sure if FMCA lower price is a good thing.
  22. I having a hard time deciding between GS, CN or FMCA roadside assistance coverage. The one experience I had with GS is when my coach front jack stuck in down position. Since it was in a campground they wouldn't send anyone so I'm looking for new as it is expiring Dec. 13. I'm looking for current experiences as FMCA has since stepped into the service.
  23. If the garage and slab is built to code and level I don't think you will have a problem.
  24. I appears that his coach has 7" round sealed beams and probably made of glass. Bill $400 for one LED headlamp. I would pass on that.
