  1. I has to be an outdated kit because the latest is resettable. The part number on mine is 634677 Rev. E. Any recall box with a lesser revision letter may not be resettable and has been lots of problems. It's nice of your dealer to call you in so they can break your fridge. You need to be sure you can reset it in the field. http://www.arprv.com/troubleshoot-norcold-recall.html
  2. In order for the relay to work there must be power to it. When mine goes out I hold the strong magnet to it and it usually takes a few seconds to reset. Then you can go inside and turn the fridge on.
  3. That is the same place my batteries are so it is different. I hope you have an access door to the dryer because it may take one heck of a strap wrench to get it off. I had to use a cheater pipe on the breaker bar that attached to the strap wrench. Lucky for me nothing broke. When your tanks fill it will expel air once at the bottom when the tanks reach full. If you have the same problem getting it off put the strap wrench near the threads because the end of the cartridge could collapse.
  4. When the air tanks fill up it expels air at the bottom of the valve that the dryer filter screws on to when the tanks reach full. I guess if there is excess moisture you will see vapors. Another way to tell is open one of your drain valves and see if there is a mist coming out of it. For some reason I have 2 drains up front one with a hose fitting on it and one in the rear I supposed for toad brakes. The fuel water separator has a non removable warning sensor at the bottom so you don't drain it. If you got water at the sensor it will turn a light on the dash. I replace all fuel filters including generator and air dryer every year.
  5. I know my coach is a few younger than your but I let you know where I found mine. It was behind the AC condenser on the left side behind the rear wheel. The AC panel unlatches with a barrel key with the first panel flipping up and the next condenser swinging out with fan motor after you unlock it with the barrel key. Behind it I found the air dryer, fuel water separator and the jacks pump, reservoir with relays.
  6. Hold strong magnet to the right of the blinking light and it should go out.
  7. If you hear a motor running while stepping on the brakes and engine off that is the backup hydraulic power brake system. That system is there if engine was to stall while your moving and had to stop quickly. It also will run the motor while you're starting with foot on the pedal until engine hydraulic pump takes over. The ABS system goes through a self check when engine is first started also. If none of this happens once you're underway you have nothing to worry about.
  8. Cold idling a diesel at low rpm can cause cylinder wash as the engine doesn't warm up. If you must idle a diesel you should raise the rpm's to 1,000. Charging an AC unit the old fashion way would benefit from raising the idle and it shouldn't take an hour doing so. If it does there is other problems with that AC that needs to be fixed. The new and better way is the evacuate and recharge the AC unit with a measure amount of refrigerant pumping it in the high side with the engine off using a machine. When I worked for government fleet those machines are a blessing as it reduce noise and flumes. Those machines also check for leaks by monitoring the vacuum it was held under for about 30 minutes. Many states has outlaw idling diesel more than 5 minutes which is more than enough for turbo cooldown. Thier reason is it wastes fuel and pollute the air. Cummins Onan don't recommend idling any engines as they want it to be under load when testing. I know many truckers may idle their engines for hours at a time at rest or truck stops. If you check they are driving a company truck and worry more about restarting the engine than damage to it.
  9. You should never cold idle a diesel engine as you are guaranteed to add fuel to the motor oil by doing so.
  10. If your jacks are down you have to crack the lines to get them up. Most have internal or external springs to hold them up. Then pull the fuses to the leveling system. Do this with safety stands and air suspension aired up.
  11. That's like telling you to use only the manufacture RV soap to wash the outside of your RV. Any RV soap will do, oops I just started a conflict here, nevermind.
  12. The changes went through my debit card right away. I got my rear 4 tires last fall and at the next fuel stop the card was over the daily limit. I had to use a different debit card because I already pumped the fuel for about $300.
  13. What model of 2013 Coachmen do you have?
  14. I reserved an electric site Bill but I know there can be a power failure and I still want to be ready if it happens.
  15. When I didn't know the reset method and was in Alaska last summer I bypass the recall box by installing a mini blade fuse from in and out wires at the box. I didn't know if the fridge would start or blow up but I tried it and it worked. The only reason I knew about the recall then is that the dealer performed it before I left for Alaska. That was the first time it went out from a power wash.
  16. Yes, after the recalls everyone should carry a strong magnet in their tool box to reset the recall box. I have to reset mine after power wash as it don't like the mist for some reason. I don't spray directed at the fridge access panel.
  17. The phone is your friend. I called the 800 number today and verify the reservation and they have it. The packet with instruction is supposed to come at the end of the month so we should see them beginning of July. Bill I'm testing the generator and both air conditioners as I'm typing this. Seems to be working great
  18. I got everything off craigslist except baseplates and tow lights and saved a bundle. Example is braking system I got for $200 and had to buy second vehicle kit for $100 saving $900.
  19. I like the reviews of Pettit Easypoxy marine paint. I also think that sandstone is a very close match to the color I need. I will grab the access panel from the fridge and visit West Marine in Everett, WA first chance I get. It's about 45 miles from me so may be awhile before I go. I want to get this done while the weather is good.
  20. I hope you make it to the NW with no further problems.
  21. Thanks for the replies. I don't think I will go with white as I don't think I can get the tape straight enough across the front and back. Great idea about the fridge side access panel as it has some of the right color on it and not as big as the a/c or fridge roof cover. I think I want to stick with brush or roll on and won't feel bad if I have to do again in five years. I need to find a place to mix oil base paint the right color. Will Lowes or Home Depot do it?
  22. When I brought mine the dealer had to replace the plastic gear in my 06 HR over the door awning. If the motor is running and not going anywhere then that could be the problem. I think the fix was a metal gear. Maybe a motor shop can help you.
  23. I have a 8 bag system with height rods connected to valves on my 06 HR. I don't know if the same as yours but I believe the height adjustment is in my owners manual. If you have a rod connected to a valve that lets air in and out it may be similar. If so maybe I can scan and email it to you.
  24. I had the same problem with a 93 Southwind I used to have. What manufactures do is use headlights out of a car or light truck and mount them much higher than originally designed. What I used to solve my problem is use the Hella driving lights mounted under the bumper. Since I got rid of the Southwind I used the build in driving lights on my HR that is also mounted lower.
  25. I'm doing a late spring cleaning starting with the roof from the tree pollen on the roof and running down the sides. When I wash the roof today I noticed that clear coat is peeling all around the roof where it is painted. The center part of the roof appears to be white aluminum and is ok, so it's just the last 6 inches on both sides and over the front and rear caps. What I'm thinking of doing is getting a good oil-based enamel paint like Rustoleum and color match if I take one of the painted a/c or fridge covers to the paint store. Then sand and paint all affected areas. This will be a roll or brush on as it's not going to be seen much at ground level. Does anyone have better do-it-yourself solutions?
