  1. Isaaac1. We got 3 more Class "C's" yesterday afternoon...we're on a roll. If you come by A-16A you'll find me, I'm next to a 1998 Monaco Windsor/Cruising Cajun! Carmati1. Thor owns Jayco and Jayco makes MH's and Trailers...Join Thor club! I will agree with WBILL about a non event at this point and only time will tell...my main concern, is why are we really bent on this to begin with? Can't be for the benefit of FMCA as a club, since we can't make $$$. So, it has to be for the benefit of FMC, who can and must make $$$ in order for FMCA to continue as a club! I feel, that the whole issue of the FMCAssist is a "Red Herring"! I feel that everyone on this Forum, needs to start thinking and asking, "what is the real reason for the change"! Forget about age...
  2. Had it really been in LV, Nevada...I may have come out there. CA., Traffic ? Nope!
  3. Why did you shut down? Does your owners manual tell you to find a safe area to do the regeneration? I have a 2010 AC Tradition and my regeneration comes on about every 3,000 miles and I keep the coach running on cruise control for the 15 minutes that it takes. My number 1 & 2 exhaust, goes back and forth between 750 - 1,200 degrees. When finished it drops back to 450 - 600 depending on Ambient temperature! I never have to shut it down!!!
  4. rpelatt. That's why I asked for substantiated information! All I got was "Catch 22" ! When I became a member the first time, I gave my DOB, as a A member the same and as a F member again the same...had I known that something like this was coming, I would not have given my DOB. Where FMCA gets the numbers from, is probably a base known age....low, high + they know the month and year that a F # was issued.. Today, with all the computers, Internet and reporting agencies that are available...you can get all the info you want. Legal? Yes. Immoral? Possibly.
  5. Ken and Joe. As noted, a lot of the exterior lights are done by the Coach Manufacturer...Fleetwood. They are the ones (Tech Dept.) who can best answer your questions and give you a fix!
  6. Yeah, I found the Allstate link earlier also.
  7. Roland. You'll get no argument from me...a favorite place from late March to October is Ruidoso, NM., Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, Sonoma, AZ. Any where in Northern CA. The problem is Jan, Feb and early March...during those months, I like Florida, Alabama Shores, Miss. coast, LA and Texas! Happy?
  8. Bill. Welcome to the Forum and thank you for the links.
  9. Ken. Do you have access to look behind the UPS and look for any cracks or missing solder on the circuit board? Thinking you may be getting feed over from M2 or D1. But then your problem could also be from your tow harness...the wire for your toad tail/break lights.
  10. Ross. VAS = Vehicle Administrative Services, Ltd. Can't find out much about them, other than it's a Holding Co. Headquarters are in Addison, Texas...Formed and Registered as a Ltd., in U.K. 2005....2 Decades, sounds so much better than 12 years in business! I'll Pass! Still remember the Tyron fiasco.
  11. It isn't. Voluntary, when you enter contact info, mailing and phone info (that also is voluntary)!
  12. Here are some things you may or will encounter on your journey in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona: High wind and dust, rain, sleet, snow and freezing rain storms! The dust, sleet, snow and very windy conditions is mainly from El Paso, Texas to Tucson, AZ. Other than that, go with Brett's suggestion....
  13. What a great thought. Don't know how or why I missed it, back in 2015...thank you Joe! Back in 1967, I was working in N.O, LA. and my Mom and Dad lived in Santa Monica, CA. On one of my many drives out West, Dad took me to the L.A. Auto Show and I saw a 1967 Winnebago and bought it...got to pick it up 3 days later and drove it back to New Orleans. Had a great time on my days off, traveling all over Texas and New Mexico....when you work in the bayous of LA., anywhere away from swamps will do on your 7 days off ! 18 months later I sold it. Could not take it to Stavanger, Norway for 6 year contract on a drilling rig. In, 1977 I was back home in Texas and got a used 1973 Landau, followed by a 1981 Apollo 3000, Apollo 3300, 1987 Barth, 1997 Allegro, 2002 Southwind, 2006 Southwind, 2007 Winnebago DP, 2011 Allegro Bus and my current 2010 American Coach 45 foot. Without a doubt I LOVE the lifestyle and put an average of 14,000 miles a year on my coach! I'm a member of 5 different Chapters, National Director, 2nd VP of Lone Star and Golf Captain of FMCA Six State....Life can't get any better than this! I'm not full time, just take the time...beats sitting on a couch at 74+! On my next one, I'll paint "Never Satisfied" across the front...
  14. I'm not trying to or attempting to get argumentative on this issue, but for the benefit of all FMCA members, why will no one substantiate the claim? Anybody can throw out numbers, but if you can't or won't substantiate it...then all it is, is just numbers and have zero meaning! I'm currently at FMCA Six State Rally. Both Jon Walker and "Rett" Porter is here. I suspect that one or both off them will supply what I'm requesting.
  15. We keep hearing about claims going up, with increase of Motor Home members only....anything to substantiate that? Just trying for hard facts, have never seen any.
  16. Good morning, Smithy. If I understand this...the more members we gain, the rate per member goes up? The more members we lose, it goes down? That makes no sense! Why then would we want towables to join? To watch the rate climb?
  17. Joe, you might reconsider getting a 24 foot trailer. You'll be close to 70 feet long and that's 5 feet over the length limit in most States! The Aspire is 42 foot 9 inches, 3 foot hitch and 24 foot trailer!
  18. Where the 2 of you get the idea that I don't have insurance, is beyond me! All I said, is that I self insure for extended warranty...that was the OP's question.
  19. I know, 3 months+ later, here is an update. Had my DISH removed yesterday and a DIRECTV installed, Model SK-SWM3! Also got the Samsung HT-J5500W. Will use the speakers at house. In the coach, I'm now hooked up with all speakers from front to rear in parallel, that makes a Hugh difference in the quality of sound. Picture is the best I've had...probably due to new equipment, from TV to Blu-Ray! I'm a happy camper again! Swallowing that $2,400 pill, felt a little better after 4 years... Ran it thru Linda's account for $25 extra per month. I cancelled mine at the house several months ago, I traveled to much and now the house will be for Sale by January.
  20. Back in October 10th, this OP wanted the same info on a Porsche SUV Cayenne! Now a Volvo...The dealers and manuals can tell more than us, then he can buy one!
  21. By detailing the batteries and compartment, you can make old batteries "Look" new or young...see if you can still see the year punched out of tag, and take a voltage meter and test each battery, could be that you have a bad cell in one and that will drag down your voltage in it and the others!
  22. That 20A has got to cover more than markers, flasher and turn signal...Jim, you might be on to something, if it also covers the toad connection, then it would fall in the 20A range! I'm confused on how it works with engine off, but not on! My only guess is a bare wire/short that only comes into play by the vibration of the engine running...scratching my head!
  23. Extended Warranty and coach Insurance is two very different things! Your figures $200 and $1,900 = $2,100.
  24. Is the marker lights on or turned off, when you start engine? If on, have you tried turning them off first, then start engine?
  25. I have no idea who has a Step Assembly that cost $1,900! I haven't seen that in 50 years of owning Class A's! But, let's say that now they have paid out $2,100 of your $7,500...Good luck on breaking even. I self insure! Always have and that account now has over $150,000 in it, + interest.
