  1. All 6 on my coach are aluminum, no steel!
  2. YES!! bring a couple of boxes of donuts and a box of coffee, food goes a along way with mechanics! Just remember once you set the bar you’ve set the bar.
  3. David, I see them in the FMCA magazine all the time at the back of the book in the advertisement section.
  4. I carry ours in the basement, it sets perfectly on top of the one slide out tray rails and it allows for items to sit under it. Its mounted on an aluminum wheel to help with the weight when I have to drag it in and out.
  5. The reason most shops do not want to work on RV's isn't the coach configuration, its the clients. Once they hear its an RV, depending on the shop you could still be turned away. The same thing is happening at free boon docking spots i.e. Walmart, the few spoil it for the everyone. Shops do not want people standing over them suffocating their staff. The root of their business is commercial vehicles with deeper pockets, they have relationships with the fleets in their shops and the drivers just drop them and leave unless a quick fix item. They don't sit inside the truck for days while their staff has to work around them. If it's an Over the road tractor, the driver will get a rental car and hotel and come back once the tractor is ready.
  6. Does it work on any setting or nothing at all? Do you have a volt meter? If you can locate it just unplug the fan and see if there is power coming to it with it set to HIGH.
  7. We use synthetic at work for a few reasons new engines need all the help they can get to extend the miles. The “million mile” days are fading in the rear view mirror! With synthetic you are lucky to see 700,000. Doesn’t really apply to the RV industry. MPG Extended drain intervals.
  8. Roadlux, this is what I use as my spare. https://www.roadlux.ca I bought one from a large commercial tire company due to their recommendation and unbelievable reliability success. Hopefully I do not have to use it for obvious reasons but I have it should I need it.
  9. Glad to hear you are all fixed up! Thank you for reporting back.

    Beware

Hit the ground so hard the license plate went missing!
  11. They are and they are up fitted with them. Although I have never seen a stock diesel toss sparks from its exhaust, I guess it’s possible or theY exercised on the side of caution. they are supposed to be cleaned as routine maintenance
  12. Slightly off topic, Black trash bags do not attract birds. I believe they cannot see them or through them, not really sure but it’s nice for them not to get torn open when out front on the curb.
  13. If it were a power steering system, OK. Given the amount of expensive components in that system I wouldn't put that into it.
  14. Good, do your research! We run the 579 at work, its a GREAT product and very reliable. hands down drives and handles much better than any of the other three manufactures we use.
  15. It’s a shame they only offer the vocational cab (567 model) on the Pete. The 579 has an option for brake assist, collision mitigation and the X15 is packaged nicely with the Eaton/Cummins Advantage 12 speed automated Manual transmission.
  16. Great question. I would be more interested in were there any symptoms with a positive case. After seeing so many 'positive cases" due to bad/false testing i'd be concerned the tests were incorrect without symptoms to help validate it.
  17. yes, I have seen white, black, gray and believe it or not yellow, one rental truck company spec's it to seal their cab to the body on a cutaway truck.
  18. Another thing to keep in mind, the Cascadia 116 vs the 125, a good portion of the engine is under the dash and closer to you on the 116. On the 125 it will be easier to work on, the engine will more out in front of you and will not require interior access. In this application that's huge with me! Its a shame its not offered in a Peterbilt, they ride much nicer and Peterbilt offers a wider steering axle which dramatically increases turning radius and provides a much more comfortable ride. On the Pete the engine is 100% in front of the firewall which makes maintenance and repairs significantly faster which save you $$
  19. Truck bodies and semi trailers use Sika brand products and they last a lifetime. As long as the roof is not a rubber product I cannot imagine why you could think outside the box. Truck body roofs are either metal or fiberglass https://usa.sika.com/en/construction/adhesives-sealants.html
  20. We run both at work, the Cummins hands down is more reliable.
  21. How old is it? The reason I ask, if built before 2007 the fuel lines were not designed to handle ULSD, they deteriorate and will leak. If you are handy you can purchase new hose and replace it yourself. Another common one often forgotten about is the lines from the tank to the generator which typically have crimped fittings on them, those you can remove, take to a hydraulic hose store and have new ones made.
  22. Update; so far the dried out Latching relay is still functioning properly. I haven’t replaced the pump yet, sadly the coach is parked at the house with no plans to move until next season. I will order one soon and replace it. Rich, our relay is the 10 Amp model. I made my way around the basement compartments and replaced all of the deteriorating seals. My pyrometer module also got wet, it dried out and works as well. I started the coach and the gauge went to 2000 degrees.
  23. Cherry Hill has the amenities. There is another one that's not a bad place, its a KOA that we have stayed at. https://koa.com/campgrounds/washington-dc/
