  1. All of the ones we looked at had a high level of quality in their construction. We went with an older Monaco product due to the location of the unit, age of the coach, floor plan and their reputation.
  2. How do you add the salt, does the top unscrew? Sorry for all of the questions, just trying to wrap my head around the softener.
  3. Ross, do you have this one? https://www.amazon.com/Portable-Softener-Trailers-Mobile-Washing/dp/B079N2L7L6/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1GZ4NO49FWOH5&dchild=1&keywords=rv+water+softener+portable&qid=1604404898&sprefix=rv+water+soft%2Caps%2C151&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFKRENJN0xKVkI1NFkmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA5MTg4MzQxU0VGWjNZUjBJOVpHJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAxNTUxNTkzMjNZOEU2TDBLVVhGJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==
  4. Replaced the pump with the one from the link above. Works great, plenty of water pressure. It’s quieter than the original, same specs so it performs equally as impressive.
  5. Ok, everything is pointing to a bad thermostat. I have power and ground coming out of the control board and down (phone cord) into a junction at the bedroom AC unit. From the junction it has a phone cord running through the wall to the thermostat. I unplugged it at the junction and plugged the thermostat in NOTHING. Since I have power and ground it should at the very least light up, but it’s still dead. I ordered a thermostat, I was a bit surprised they still make the exact same one. I’ll have it Tuesday. Oddly in the manual it says the thermostat life expectancy is 10-15 years. Who would have thought?
  6. I didn’t see anything burnt and it doesn’t smell burnt. I pulled the board from the housing and I rechecked it, and that blemish is between the board layers. Here’s a photo. I did pull the manuals out and located a troubleshooting guide in the back. I will give that a shot today to see if I have power coming to it. Within that phone type cable is a black and red wire. Black is negative and red is positive. Now comes the tricky part, trying to see those tiny wires.
  7. It sounds like the solenoid in the electrical compartment is over heating and releasing. Since these are notorious for problems I start there.
  8. PA Ezpass is supposed to work that way and it does in PA and DE, MD you pay 4 axles on the coach (that’s the type of transponder we HAD) and then it see’s the Jeep tag, didn’t see a transponder, realizes it also has a Ezpass so it billed us for it also. So I paid for the Jeep twice. All the while the Jeep transponder was in the foil bag in the glove box. I fought this EVERY DARN TIME IN MD. The last time I was told just swap the coach Ezpass to cover the coach and let the Jeep ping it’s own. Been doing that for two years and no issues.
  9. Does anyone have any experience with the 5 button thermostat and troubleshooting it? I left the power switch turned on, ac-heat pumps off and the was coach plugged in for a month ( not something I would normally do). Today the thermostat will not turn on, completely dead. I tried all of the reset procedures and pulled the tops off the ac units, checked fuses, no issues. This is the original thermostat so it was installed July 2001. On the roof are two Dometic Penguins with heat pumps also original equipment. I plugged it in at the ac unit to eliminate the possibility of the phone type cord being the issue somewhere between the thermostat base and the AC units, it still will not power up.
  10. Yeah, I am probably as far south as you can get by without an Ezpass.
  11. That’s how it’s supposed to work. Double check you bills.
  12. We have two. One in toad one in coach, believe it or not the tolls are cheaper that way. I had the Motorhome as 4 axles to include the toad. I was being double charged for the toad. It would ping the coach EZPASS then see the toad license plate and charge that license plate. I caught on, complained and was told my only option was to not assign any Ezpass to the toad. The problem, we use the Ezpass in the toad when not in tow.
  13. NO. Ours is a 2002 and We have stayed at Many resorts with a 10 year rule. They ask for photos, I email them in while on the phone and I always get "no problem, see you in...." This motorhome is good on a few levels. You are in it for not a lot of money You can customize it to you likings and make it something that you cannot purchase without a ton of money Non emission engine = dependability once you establish a baseline on maintenance Non Electronic fuel injection engine, even better yet! Maintenance costs will be much more cost effective, simple is cheaper to repair
  14. You’d be better off calling Tiffin and asking where to start if there is no problem with the salesman switch circuit (located in the entry way). Since you have house electrical and coach electrical problems I suspect you have two issues or the power or ground supplying has been compromised. It’s doubtful Tiffin has the wiper circuit on the coach electrical system.. On our coach if the salesman switch is off I have no 120 vac power to anything. But my chassis operates (wipers, turn signals, dash AC and heat etc) as designed.
  15. With most EZ pass accounts, trailers just simply have to be listed on the account as a trailer (PA has a drop down for what type of vehicle it is, enter in year, make and model and of course the license plate information). Otherwise you will get a fine when utilizing a toll road plus the toll. Oddly Maryland is the worse on the fines, got out of and argued many until I found what I had to do to correct it.
  16. Welcome! That’s an amazing story, sounds like you got a great deal!
  17. Not likely, curious what Spartan has to say.
  18. Friends, let’s not turn this political. Thank you!
  19. Urban, when this happens was the O/D light blinking on the shifter? The last Ford that I worked on with this issue it was a problem within the transmission harness, not the engine. When the PCM cannot detect the transmission it cuts the power back on the engine so as not to cause any damage to the transmission.
  20. I wish I had that type of creativity
  21. DW is spoiled with the 5.3 GPM at 65 PSI that the current pump has. If I go lower she will notice it, plus its not uncommon to have 2 faucets open at one time, this and our current one speeds up. I am going to rebuild our current pump and keep it as a back up. I always carried a backup and sold my last one to a friend while we were camping when his failed.
