  1. If the purple wire has 12 volt that is what is activating the solenoid. That should come on with the ignition on or jump start switch. With it disconnected start the engine and see if the engine battery is about the same voltage as the house battery. If more that about 1 volt difference hook up the purple wire and see if they are closer to the same voltage. If so then there is a problem with the purple (control) wire. Thats my guess without actually being able to trouble shoot it.
  2. I only lost one, the Heier which had no warranty. That was in my last coach, I put the Norcold back in and sold it. My new to me coach is the one I'm installing a new 10.2 cu ft Insignia from Best Buy. Its ok if installed in an rv and I got the extended 5 year warranty. I'm taking out a Dometic 3722? which is 32 inches wide and the new one is 24 inches wide leaving me 8 inches to put in a much needed pantry. The new refrigerator has a bottom freezer and has more interior space than the old one.
  3. You only need it if the hitch comes loose. If you have one it probably won't come loose!
  4. Before you get a new one disconnect the purple wire and hook up the battery to see if the solenoid is still closed (gets hot).
  5. I got it out! I used a 4 inch putty knife and a hammer and went around the edge and broke the sealer all the way around and it came out. Thanks everyone for ideas.
  6. Lk Havasu has quite a bit if fishing, bass tournaments etc.
  7. On a 98 Fleetwood Discovery I need to remove the living room side window to exchange refrigerators. Anyone know how to get the window to release from the side of the coach? I've tried some prying but couldn't get it to budge.
  8. I prefer to do Alaska by myself, I don't need someone telling me where to park. I did Alaska for 2 months in 2001 and did just fine.
  9. Last year we bought a 98 Discovery, the same model as yours. Ours had 100k miles on it. Did a number of repairs and upgrades and took our first trip to the paint shop to have it painted, 4500 miles round trip. Took a summer trip about 4 months and 6000 miles, had a few problems but that is to be expected.
  10. Is a 04 Silverado 1500 4x4 flat towable?
  11. If your refrigerator has an automatic switch that goes to ac when current is present, switch it manually to propane because it draws a lot of current on ac when the inverter is on.
  12. My son and girlfriend and friends were there and fortunately made it out ok. Talk to him about 30 minutes after the shooting, he was near the stage and saw a lot of the victims.
  13. Check for a bad ground. If ok run a wire from the battery to the board and check voltage assuming the battery voltage was ok when you were reading 8-10 volts at the board.
  14. One of the important things is that it will give you information of a variation in pressure of each tire as you run.
  15. Years ago I had a similar problem with interference on 12 volt. I ran a dedicated 12 volt wire from the battery and it solved the problem.
  16. Thats the way I secured mine, I have 8 panels, 100 watts each. 4 brackets per panel and 2 screws per bracket to the roof with Dicor sealer. Been up to 78 mph and the panels are still with me.
  17. I have been using on board air for 18 years, it also powers my 1 inch air wrench for changing tires.
  18. We got rid of our 32 ft diesel pusher that we used for 17 years and 150k miles. We would be in it for 5-6 months at a time. Not much extra room. We now have a 36 ft with slide and it is so much more comfortable. I would go with a Cummins engine. We have the ISB 275 and just got back from a 6k mile trip and averaged a tick over 10 mpg, 28k pounds with 1/2 Silverado.
  19. I tried to do that switch about 18 years ago and found it took to many parts and was cheaper to go to a ISB 275 which already had the 3060. The bell housing on the 4 speed was a #1 and the 3060 was a #2 if I recall correctly.
  20. It sound like one of the springs is not working. With the slide all the way in but out about an inch undo the end cap arm and hang on tight because there should be spring tension. Let it unwind slowly and count the turns. Should be around 8-10 I think. You may find no tension on one end, if so remove the screws and pull the spring assy out and see whats broken.
  21. If using a portable compressor I would use an inline drier to trap the moisture.
  22. Roger, I was waiting for your response.
