  1. Why don't you go at a time when its not so busy?
  2. Good thing I don't have my motorhome with me in Hawaii. The cheapest diesel is at Sam's Club, $4.59!
  3. The increase in mpg is probably mostly due to the slower speed. Economy setting on the control makes the trans shift to a higher gear sooner and stay there longer. I always drive in the economy mode and at about 56-60 mph. I get between 10-11 mpg driving coast to coast.
  4. We stayed in La Conner in June and drove the toad to Anacortes, about 22 miles. We walked on the ferry and paid a one time fee of about $5 and visited several islands, spending the entire day. Looked around and it seemed like there weren't many roads that are RV friendly. Looked steep and narrow, especially Orcas.
  5. It's possible the batteries were never charged fully. As Brett said you need to charge for at least 24 hours. If you leave the batteries low or dead, the life of the batteries is greatly shortened. If it is freezing out the water could freeze and break the case. You might want to take the batteries out and store them in a warmer place, and you could charge and test them also.
  6. There is something that doesn't make sense to me. You say it is indicated that the batteries are on float charge with no shore cord connection. How can that be? Float charge voltage is about 13.5 to 13.8 volts with the charger on. Are the batteries 6 volt golf cart? How many, 4 or 6? If they are 12 volt, are they deep cycle? What kind of charging do you have, inverter/charger or converter?
  7. What brand and size are your new batteries? What are your means for charging, converter, inverter/charger?
  8. I prefer to put mine in my garage. The people I have talked to that have tried the covers seem to think that they are a hassle. Thats a lot of material to handle and it is usually a several person job on ladders. There can be issues with rubbing your finish when the wind blows and also moisture concerns.
  9. Check to see if it is the switch. If it is florescent light and its old, when you have switched the light on and it doesn't go on, lightly hit the tube, if it goes on the problem is with the mercury in the tube. Take the tube out and turn it around and it should work for a while, or you can replace the tube with a new one.
  10. Herman and Brett, you are absolutely correct. I had a customer come into my shop and told me that the tanks were empty and my tech found out the hard way they were not!
  11. Side cameras have a use. They are positioned at the front and show the blind area under the mirror. They only come on when the turn signal is on.
  12. I use See Level external sensors. Not 100 % but close.
  13. Look in the Rand Mcnally Wal Mart edition and it list all the WM and Sams clubs.
  14. You might try filling the bowl almost full of water before the initial flush. I have a built in rinse system that has a jet that is aimed at the trouble area of my tank, the spot directly under the toilet. When you are not moving for days or weeks the mountain that builds up is difficult to move, my jet spray is directed to that spot.
  15. We have been using an induction cook top in the motorhome for the last six years and even have a Samsung induction range at home. Having LP is another power source which is still a nice option.
  16. I have looked into having a dash cam and saw a number of them from various manufacturers at the AAPEX/SEMA show in Las Vegas last week. I looked at Fry's Electronics at the retail level and they start at around $100. I think there is a market for them but I think your price point is high.
  17. If a spark is present it makes no difference if it is pos or neg it will cause the gas to explode.
  18. I'm surprised that this type of switch is still on the market. These switches are dangerous because they can have an open spark and if there are any charge gasses present it could explode the top of the battery and spray acid all over. That is why when you use jumper cables the last connection should be the negative cable and attached to the frame a distance from the battery. It should be the first cable to be disconnected. I have witnessed too many battery explosions.
  19. You should have asked me at Redmond!! Just as BA said just loosen the four bolts and rotate the valve assy to the desired angle and tighten the bolts.
  20. I think it depends on the state. In Az glass coverage is mandatory I think with no deductible. I had new windshields installed some $2800 with no deductible. I have been with several different insurance companies and none has ever had a deductible for glass in the 45 years that I have lived here.
  21. I prefer air brakes that I have on my tow dolly because if I go down a long hill I don't burn up the dolly brakes, I use the exhaust brake and very little service brake.
  22. I always travel with a full tank and I dump it every few weeks if I'm at a campground and refill so as to have fresh water.
  23. Make sure you minivan is not all wheel drive. If it is you will need a trailer not a tow dolly.
  24. You need a electric brake controller to vary the amount of brake being applied.
