  1. Smaller stations have smaller storage tanks so the amount of condensation is less. My solution is that I have a 95 gallon diesel tank in the back of my Silverado toad and I can go to a station with lower prices and fill up and then drive back to the coach and transfer the fuel in to the main tank which I have increased to 129 gallon capacity. Because I get between 10 and 11 mpg and have 220 gallons I can get to the cheapest stations in the country without refueling along the way!
  2. As far as the rubber roof goes I replaced mine just before the paint job and it was 19 years old. With careful treatment it still was in great shape with very little chalking. They say the lifespan is 10 years. Its a relatively non technical job to replace, mostly labor intensive.
  3. I have modified a 93 diesel pusher extensively. Some of the major changes include engine, transmission, air suspension. air brakes, independent front suspension, larger rear axle, 22.5 Alcoa wheels, double fuel capacity, bamboo flooring, hd tv's and cabinet changes, full body paint job. I don't know how much its worth but I built it to suit my desires.
  4. I think the quality of Xantrex has gone down hill since it was sold. It seems that there are a lot more problems with the units and tech help is harder to come by. We were a dealer for many years but not anymore as support is not there.
  5. You still have to keep you eyes open wide because the RV GPS is not 100 % as far as roads and low bridges!
  6. We have a Silverado toad which we carry our bikes on the back in a rack. The rack tilts backward so we can lower the tailgate for access to the bed. Its convenient to have the bikes with us on day trips.
  7. I believe it is legal in Az. I think 65 feet overall is the limit. There are a number of 5th wheels with boats behind and I have seen motorhomes towing a truck and a boat and also towing a truck and a car.
  8. Its a tricky situation. I know of a coach that was going to be repossessed and the owner switch out the transmission computer for one that had only 5 speeds instead of six. Hard to find out what happened. They also switched out the Alcoas for steel wheels and junk tires.
  9. Pickle ball is quite popular at the Thousand Trails campgrounds. My wife and I have played it and will do so again.
  10. I think that is a liability issue not that it won't be able to go over 65mph. I would use synthetic gear oil in the trans and rear end. My Silverado had synthetic from the factory and I have towed it over 100k miles.
  11. My side cameras are just behind the front bumper and my side marker and turn light is half way back and doesn't effect the camera.
  12. You might string a new 10 gauge wire from the front to the back.
  13. My mid center side marker light blinks with the turn signal and my coach is a 93 model. I changed to leds several years ago.
  14. I have used 3m kit for 4 prius headlights. They are fairly large.
  15. We have been to parks when somebody with musical talent has performed. I don't know if any money was paid or not. My friend is a yoga instructor and she held classes at a campground in Az in exchange for campground fees.
  16. Check polarity, leds won't work if wired backwards.
  17. My dp gets 10-11 mpg towing a 1500 Silverado. Diesel fuel cost about 50 cents more per gallon today in Las Vegas, $3.22 TO $3.72. 40% better mileage. I had my oil analyzed at 15k and at 29k and it was still good to go but I changed it anyway. I use Rotella T6 synthetic.
  18. Warm color is around 2700K and pure white is around 6000K.
  19. When the frame is lifted so the tire is off the ground the suspension is at the max travel whether there is air in the bag or not.
  20. How about waiting till it warms up?!! You need to do an actual measurement to get the correct size and shape.
  21. I just failed to air up the chassis. It doesn't make any difference if the bags are full or not, the jacks have a certain travel length which dictates how high the coach will go. If I had raised the front center jack that would have allowed the front to tilt.
  22. Just put in blocking diodes, I would use 18 gauge wire.
  23. I have Carrier roof a/cs with heat strips. Was just in Vegas and they worked great. Got down to the high 30s and the coach was 72. They are a little noisy. They have ducts that face down.
  24. There are a number of systems available and they also read temperature. You can also install transmitters on your toad even if it has factory transmitters, so you can monitor it from the motorhome. This spring Camping World will have the new Tire Minder system which will allow you to read just one of the vehicles at a time when you separate them.
  25. You might check to see if there is a restriction in the duct work between the air intake and the filter. The gauge can be tested with a vacuum gauge pump tester.
