  1. What internet stuff? Everything works for me while I'm signed in.
  2. For MY MH; I had a very similar problem some years ago. To cut this short the problem was a loose retaining nut on the main cable distribution block on the firewall that supplied power to the entire cockpit area. The cable made contact enough to start the engine when the loose connection cooled off, but when it heated back up it lost contact. It cost Good Sam ERS approx. $2K for the roadside mechanic to find that loose nut on the positive cable to the distribution block; it cost me a $20 tip to the mechanic.
  3. This might be the cause of our high fuel prices: https://www.rystadenergy.com/newsevents/news/press-releases/us-gulf-crude-exports-to-hit-record-high-this-quarter-despite-domestic-supply-shortage/
  4. Mine have been attached with double-sided tape at top port-side corner, been there ever since I received them, approx.9 yrs. so far.
  5. I use https://weatherspark.com/ to learn what the historical weather is for a location. I use https://preview.weather.gov/edd/ to see what the weather will be along my driving route. Wayne, it looks like we will not be going anywhere this summer, and perhaps fall. The body shop and ins. company seem to be in no rush to repair or total our MH, no decision on that yet. The body shop is searching for used front caps though, so they say.

Does this look like yours? https://www.intellitec.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/53-00362-100.pdf and this how it works pdf, https://www.intellitec.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/53-01000-000.pdf
  7. Believe it or not, today the Army is again working on designing new vehicles for travel in the antarctic. It will replace arctic vehicles made in the 1960's and the present stryker wheeled vehicles.
  8. Is there a pressure regulator ON the grill too?
  9. An older battery will drag down the new battery, both are charged at the same rate but the new battery is over-charged because the old battery will not accept the same amount of charging. The old battery is still trying to reach full charge while the new one is being over-charged. Now if the older batter is less than 6 months old and passes a full-load test, it may be retained with a new battery. As to battery type, you have room for 2 batteries; if you were to install 2 6V batteries and one goes bad you are SOL, but with 2 12V batteries you still have one to supply voltage to your coach by simply disconnecting the bad battery. This means you may disconnect your bad battery now and still use your MH.
  10. I agree Joe. many tire owners simply do not/cannot follow directions. For example, if a tire owner follows directions and registers their tires with the mfgr., owners will be notified by mail of all recalls pertaining to the tires - by USDOT number. An example of tire recalls, this one is for Continental and Goodyear Tires: https://recallinfo.ustires.org/TireRecallSearch/ListRecalls/12 I wonder how many FMCA members who bought tires through the program bothered to register their new tires?
  11. Just got a phone call today asking if I'm OK with the MH being totaled, I said yes if the money is close to matching todays market value. I'm sad about that, I've put a lot of money into ensuring everything was properly maintained and repaired. I wouldn't hesitate to begin a circuit around the U.S.A. tomorrow - if I could afford the fuel. I'm going to start window-shopping this week JIC.
  12. I pointed him to the sales brochure, the Ford chassis came with 19.5" tires, the Workhorse chassis, which came with 22.5" tires, was not available for the 37PCT model.
  13. Well wouldn't ya know it; I delivered our MH to the body shop today, then at 17:50 hrs REMC power went off. It's 91° this evening and over 50% humidity- HOT. Had the MH been here I'd have cranked up the genset, turned on the A/C and been comfortable for the 2 hrs I was without power. Body shop owner said "I haven't a clue when you'll get your MH back, we are so very busy since the hailstorm 2 weeks ago. He also said the repair bill will be close to $35K since my damaged parts are in such bad condition. Both windshields will have to be removed too, I wasn't figuring on that.
  14. That's what he is asking for, the original tire size, which will be listed on the Federal Tire Placard in the vehicle.
  15. Concerning tire pressure; check pressure before you start the engine each morning (assuming you've been parked at least 4 hrs., set to the federal tire placard if you do not have corner weights. That is good for the days travel, regardless of outside temperature. reference: https://www.rvtiresafety.net/
  16. ???? Wayne 10 gallons of fuel will get you just as far today as it did a year ago unless your MH engine isn't running right today.
  17. According to the 2004 sales brochure the Ford chassis came with 245/70R19.5 tires. The Workhorse chassis came with 235/80 tires. The workhorse chassis was N/A for the 37PCT model.
  18. iggy that is a good thing. Both organizations have been negatively affected the past 6-8 years by losing members, hopefully that will permit both to survive economic conditions and aging membership. We can't travel much since my wife was severely injured in an auto crash in 2016. In 2021 I nearly died from blood septis and resulting kidney failure ; recovery is very slow.
  19. For comparison, check out Verizon pre-paid, We already have a pre-paid Verizon phone, so the hotspot is $35/month for 50GB plan.
  20. The Kwikee steps are activated by a reed switch on the wall of the step well by a magnet on the screen door. If both parts of the switch do not maintain contact (kinda like you holding 2 fingers side by side, one halfway above the other) this signals the motor controller to either extend or retract the steps. The manual in this link will help you identify your model of steps and detail how and why it works. It also contains detailed repair and adjustment instructions. reference: Kwikee Product Service Training Manual
  21. Depending on mfgr. it will look like one of these. I would assume it is either a Wabco, Haldex or Bendix brand. The most important thing to remember is block under the frame and bleed away ALL air pressure before beginning to remove the filter, next important is cleanliness, any tiny bits of dirt allowed into the main dryer housing can cause problems after reassembly. Clean away all road grime and dirt before trying to remove the desiccant filter. Since it is a 2007 and evidently never been serviced, I recommend buying the entire rebuild kit, it contains items to rebuild all the valves in the dryer assembly (4), plus the filter cartridge.
  22. Welcome! Sounds like a great MH, I've always wondered how the new Ford V8 was being accepted. I"ve been keeping up with Fords new engine since it was first announced. They've been the only gas engine in MH's ever since Workhorse quit. If I were asking this question, I would contact FMCA HQ directly. I can think of no valid reason for not having a gasoline MH forum, but I'm just a peon enjoying conversing about any problems for which I have meaningful information;; doesn't matter it it is powered by gas or diesel, motorized or towed, as I've had them all. What is important is brand, as there are specific problems with each that non-owners have little knowledge. Gas motors have their specific quirks, as do diesel's, but almost everyone has some knowledge of gas engines, less for diesels. I appreciate reading your signature, I didn't know if you had a Dodge chassis, workhorse, or Ford. We used to belong to S.M.A.R.T. before the pandemic. It's a great group of veterans. FMCA also has a veterans group. DW has medical issues that have prevented attending any gatherings or caravans; now it's my turn for having problems that prevent such activities. Now we're waiting for the body shop to repair our MH front cap, looks like it'll take all summer they are so busy.
