My sister had a Condor (2003 or 2004) for several years that was trouble free.

Parking Class A RV on Driveway Incline
rossboyer replied to davidsuzanne's topic in Type A motorhomes
Your only difficulty may be the operation of your refrigerator. I plug in the coach to keep the batteries charged and the frig cold. My frig is on the passenger side; therefore, I back in so the front is lower. If I drive in, the frig does not operate well which is probably due to the slope of the cooling coils on the frig. -
To aviod this problem, I put a hitch on rear of the towed auto, installed the bike rack there, and had no problems. Additionally, I could then haul the bikes with the auto without the motor home to see the sights.

We have never balanced the rear tires, but we have Wheel Masters on the front. These are plates with a ring of fluid that balance the tires. They do help and can be moved from coach to coach when you trade.

Motorhome Class A Extended Warranty
rossboyer replied to rvretire@gmail.com's topic in Extended Service Policies
We purchased an extended warranty from Freedom Care which is now Camping World. When purchased our motor home had 3,000 miles on it. We have had enough claims to more than paid for the purchase price. We will run out in about 2,000 miles at 72,000. My only difficulty is that they always argue with me about payment. Be persistent and your extended warranty will pay for themselves. -
2000 Endeavor Diesel Electrical Plug For Microwave
rossboyer replied to khuskeysr@yahoo.com's topic in Electrical
Look for outlets in the storage bin below the junction box you mentioned. If they are there, check them. It is not unusual for the outlets that are put in motor homes to have the wiring burn inside the outlet since most only use a push in connection. These are very dificult to find; but if you do, replace the outlet with a better quality outlet that uses screws to clamp the wire. Please let us know what you find. -
Usually, a HWH leveling sensor is located under the coach. It is about 4 inches in diameter with three screws holding it. Turning one of the screws will change the sensing of a probe on the other side.

We have a sprayer similar to one that would be used at the kitchen sink. Didn't work well because you had to be flushing the toilet for the sprayer to work. Water volume too low. Removed the sprayer from the flush valve, and added a tee to the water line to connect the sprayer. Very good volume. If the toilet didn't flush well, an additional spray finishes the task.

We had a coach with an Onan 7.2 KW LP generator. One day in Kansas near 100 degrees, we used 1 gal per hour runing both air conditioners and the refrigerator. I discussed this high usage with fellow owners of the same unit and got the reply that the usage was normal.

No Power To 110 Outlets In Coach Area Unless Inverter Is Turned On
rossboyer replied to snybe's topic in Electrical
Suggest that you look in the main 120 volt breaker panel to be sure that the breaker that feeds your inventer is on. If you have power there, I would check the actual power input to the inverter. -
We use the dash heater, but close off the rear of the coach with the bathroom door. If the dash heat is not enough, we set the rear LPG furnace to 60 and the front furnace just high enough to maintain comfort. We have traveled in 10-11 degree temps with comfort this way.

No, a 50 amp power connection requires 4 wires. You can extend your current 30 amp coach cord with the 30 amp male/female cord and then use a 50 amp male plug and 30 amp female to adapt your connection to work on a 50 amp service. You will still only be able to use 30 amps in your coach.

Towing A Chevy Equinox 4 Wheels Down
rossboyer replied to sbissell's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
We have towed a 2011 Equinox with automatic transmission for about 30,000 miles with no problems. There is one fuse to pull, but I installed a switch so I don't have to pull the fuse.- 13 replies

If it is a Xantrex inverter, the breakers are on the front of the inverter. Once they are turned off and back on and if you still do not have power, look in the main AC Breaker panel for a tripped breaker (probably 30 amp).

Fresh Water Tank Vent - Position for Outside End
rossboyer replied to Wallee's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
SMC coaches on Magnum chassis had this problem. If you allowed the tank to fill to where water would overflow, siphoning would occur and drain 2/3 of the tank until the vaccum could overcome the siphon. Some added a tee and ran a line well up into the rear of the refrigerator compartment to be the vacuum breaker. Instead of doing this is probably the reason that a plug was added to your overflow.- 17 replies

Installing Motorized Windshield & Side Window Shades
rossboyer replied to garytenorsinger's topic in Modifications
You may want to check www.automotionshade.com. There is an ad in Family Motor Coaching January issue on page 126. They were producing similar if not better quality shades before the other brand. I have seen them and plan to install these myself. -
J C Whitney sells them.

I don't think that anyone can guarantee that a particular brand or type of TV will withstand the road shock in a motor home, but I have installed LCD TVs in 3 different motor homes. Those motor homes have traveled 12,000 to 20,000 miles per year for at last 3 years without difficulty. The brand I used was Toshiba. I liked the ability with the Toshiba TV to make the connections from the antenna, DirecTV, and outside cable at the TV which allowed me to switch between those sources with the Remote. The real key is how well you mount the TV to reduce residual vibration. I made my own mountings using flat bar and angle aluminum stock from a big box store. I do not have pictures to share. I was able to provide a pivot to allow access to the rear of the TV to work with the wiring. There was enough space behind the new TV to install the base speaker for the surround sound which gave me additional foot and leg space at the drivers seat.

Additionally, while you are searching if you have any questions, many of us have had similar units and possibly can answer your questions.

We have GMAC. Our only claims have been for windshields with no problems and very responsive. We were able to get the motor home and two autos covered for less than our motor home with our previous insurance.

I see that you installed a residential refrigerator. What model and manufacturer? Did you also install an inverter and was it pure sine wave? Make and model? What is your battery bank?
