The mesquite trees are budding in the Texas Hill Country.

Roll pin? You making biscuits or pie crust? The devil made me say it now back to the topic. Like others have said, the motor shaft looks good so it must be the splines in the arm are bad.

If you're towing 10,000 pounds with a gasser you are going to have one heck of a trip. The trailer does have brakes doesn't it?

Richard, I didn't read anything in Mike's posts to indicate anyone should panic but once that word is used it starts to take root. I look forward to hearing Mike explain why diesel or as far as that goes, all fuel fluctuates in price even when crude pricing is staying relatively stable. I believe its very simple, supply and demand.

BUILDING RV PAD / TEXAS HILL COUNTRY
elkhartjim replied to eric@babin.com's topic in General Discussion
We need to have christening party for we local Hill Country folks. We're going to Kerrville tomorrow for a songfest. -
I watched maybe 30 minutes of the game and the only commercial I paid much attention to was the NFL one. I spent most of my time at the feed trough enjoying a great Tex-Mex buffet and margaritas plus spent some time out on the balcony overlooking Canyon Lake enjoying the sunshine and 74 degree temperature. The half time show was like all the shows the past few years, they are geared to a much younger age group. I understand the censors had to bleep out several words from one of the performers.

Things I would like to see from Factory
elkhartjim replied to TimeTraveler's topic in Type A motorhomes
Where would you suggest they place them? All of mine are easily within arms reach. What year, make and model motorhome do you have? -
If you're interested in seeing the Whooping Cranes, they were almost extinct just a few years ago, dive out to Goose Island State Park and instead of turning right to the park turn left. towards the the Big Oak Tree. When you get to12th St, turn right. At the Oak Tree, on the right there is a large field. Drive to the end, turn right and keep looking to the right in the field. Often times the Whoopers are in this area. Turn right on 11th and there is a home on the right with a large corn feeder, there may be Whooping Cranes and Sandhill Cranes in there waiting for feeding time. The cranes stand 5 ft tall and are white. The Sandhills are much shorter and will appear to be gray.

You either didn't bother to read the article or you don't know where Lake Sam Rayburn is. The Harris county sheriff's dept or Houston fire department would not be involved. The link I provided is KHOU-TV, channel 11 in Houston. It was covered by Beaumont, Tyler and other tv outlets. Various print news sources also reported it. The owner is a fairly well known bass tournament fisherman. Google "motorhome sinks in Lake Sam Rayburn". Can you point out where the statement about stunt dogs was used, its not on the link I provided that I can find.

Refrigerator cooling solution "gelled"
elkhartjim replied to DJSafariCoach's topic in Systems and Appliances
How warm is it inside the rv? I don't believe an absorption type refer will work in freezing temps or at least not effectively. If the temp is -14 and the rv is outside, I can't imagine the inside is much about freezing, if that.- 26 replies

DOOR HANDLE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT / 2014 WINNEBAGO-ITASCA
elkhartjim replied to eric@babin.com's topic in Type A motorhomes
That door latch is prone to failures at the most inopportune times. If it fails and your inside and have the tools inside you can easily remove the latch and open the door. This is the reason I always leave one window unlocked so if needed, I or someone can climb inside to open the door. I will never disclose which drivers window I leave unlocked either. -
Wayne needs to recommend so places to eat back on the mainland. He didn't get the nickname Mister Round for nothing.

What they need to ban is the stupid handlers that bring the live mascots face to face. One mascot comes to mind, the University of Houstons cougar, Shasta. Bring Bevo face to face with a live cougar and see who backs down. Its just hard to cure stupid.

Glue "Elevator" Bolt to Plastic Name Plate
elkhartjim replied to fagnaml's topic in General Discussion
This is what we used when double sided tape wouldn't work. https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/all-3m-products/~/3M-Plastic-and-Emblem-Adhesive/?N=5002385+3293082148&rt=rud -
Roland, I'm assuming you will take the free Bolivar Ferry across to Galveston and not come all the way in to Houston. Take the Hwy 124 exit at Winnie.

Have you considered using double sided tape and eliminating the bolts? -
HardiPlank is a fiber cement material siding. Great stuff for home building.

BUILDING RV PAD / TEXAS HILL COUNTRY

Hail will do considerably more damage to an asphalt shingle roof than a metal roof. Hail may put some dimples in it but rarely will it puncture a hole like in standard shingles. My ranch house had a metal roof and they used a rubber membrane between the decking and the metal to keep the condensation from getting to the OSB decking. Its going to look great when finished, Eric.
