I have to agree with Brett. Disconnect all power and Inverter and then open up the outlet. You may find a loose or corroded connection. You can also test the outlet with a meter for continuity from the plug to the wire. Also check the machine for a loose or corroded connection. Hope you get it fixed. The DW might not like the clothes stacking up. Good Luck, Herman

Sleeper Sofa in 2008 HR Neptune Won't Close- Manual Operation
hermanmullins replied to sauerland's topic in Type A motorhomes
Paul, you have to get off the couch first. Sorry couldn't help myself. You might see if you can see if there is a pall or pin that is not disengaging in the hinge area. Herman -
Correction to my Post on Battery corrosion. When charging, batteries will emit SULFURIC Acid gasses not Hydrochloric. My goof , however both will still eat holes in your jeans. Herman

Now Gayle don't be stupid like my self. My back up monitor would not show a picture. I check every thing I knew of and then called the factory. Told the tech his unit was bad. He asked "Did you press the VIEW button?". I did and the D*&*^ thing came on with a great picture. Some where I or someone had hit the View button and turned off the picture. Glad the reset worked, will keep that in my memory bank. Herman

Good luck with your unit. If I am not mistaken Hydro Hot is now part of Aqua Hot. Herman

Sleeper Sofa in 2008 HR Neptune Won't Close- Manual Operation
hermanmullins replied to sauerland's topic in Type A motorhomes
Paul, What you have is a sleeper know as a Jack Knife. When in the sofa position you lift up the front edge of the sofa until the back of the sofa is flat and you hear a click. Then you let the front of the sofa down to make the flat bed. to close the sofa is just the reversed procedure. Lift the front edge till it is upright and again you hear a click then push the front edge of the sofa down. At this point the back of the sofa should rise up and the seat will go down to reform the seat. Hope this helps. Herman -
Gayle, Corrosion on battery terminals can be caused by several things. Over charge is one while older batteries near then end of their life is another. The corrosion come from the batteries out gassing hydrochloric Sulfuric acid fumes. Be sure the batteries are full, terminals are clean, all the things you have done. The gray corrosion on the cables, once started, are hard to stop short of changing the cables. I know you don't like seeing the gray gunk but you are doing every thing needed to keep your batteries working and charging. One other thing you might have checked is how high the voltage is coming from you charger. Too much can also cause out gassing. Good luck, Herman

Paul, Can you tell us what kind of sofa it is. Is it a Fold Up or Jack Knife? Herman -
Capt. When was the last time you had your unit serviced? I should be done once a year. In my Monaco the fuel filter is in the compartment where the fuel tank and Aqua Hot overflow tank are located. You may just need the unit service and the injector replaced. As far as the electric element is concerned you will need to drain the unit. It is just like a electric water heater in you home and the tank must be drained. The only difference is the Hydro Hot fluid is heated which in turn heats the water. Also I might suggest the you have the Hydro Hot coolant checked to see if it should be replaced. Might I suggest that you contact Aqua Hot to see who may be in Pomona For the FMCA Family Reunion and set up an appointment to have the unit serviced. John Collalo or Lloyd Degarlo both should be there. (I'm sorry if I missed spelled their names). This way you can have your unit serviced and go to a great RV Rally. The 91st Family Reunion and Motorhome Show case is March 26-29 at the Fairplex Pomona, California. Herman

stratman50th and Stan Rollins, Brothers, Welcome to the Forum. I am Hillcrest 1318 Dallas, Texas (48 years). It is not unheard of for a Chapter to be started at the FMCA Family Reunions. Put out the word here that you would like to get together during a Reunion and get 20 coaches to sign up and then submit a petition to Cincinnati. By the way Charlie Adcock, FMCA National President is also a brother. Herman

rheald, FMCA Roadside Assist is a benefit that is offered to members of FMCA. However it is a fee based program. FMCA Offers it to members for a reduces annual fee of $99.00. Many folks have and like Coach Net while others have AAA all good companies in their own right. FMCA Roadside Assist is just one of the Service Companies FMCA recommends. I have Coach Net and may also take out AFMC Roadside Assist. My thinking is that if I have a problem in an area that doesn't have a close by service agent from one then maybe the other has one close by. From my point of view is that all road side service companies need to have better coverage in all areas. Herman

Jack, If there is room you can install a flush unit on your gray water tank. They can be found at CW and other places. The S-C unit may be used to pump waste up hill for a very small rise, however they will burn out the pump should the lift be too great. Also pumping up hill will leave residue in the line that will leak out when you disconnect from use. Not a pleasant thought. Herman

Towing the 2015 Chevy Colorado

TP, The charge wire is connected to the Battery so it will not be discharged each time the AF1 is activated. If wired correctly your light will be on a separate circuit. Your Tail Lights, Stop Lights and Turn signals must be on an isolated line through diodes. If you wire them directly there will be feed back and can destroy electric circuits. Herman -
Our first MH was a 28 foot Farrin UltraStar. On our first night we dry camped in a marina parking lot in Oklahoma. When we woke up we were looking out over a beautiful lake while having coffee. Hooked! We made many short trips in that coach before we up graded to a Monaco Windsor 32'. Wow, now we both have a chair to sit in while having coffee looking out at beautiful scenery. We are now into a 40' Monaco Dynasty, the love affair continues to grow. Since our retirement we have become much more involved with our home chapter, Lone Star, and FMCA national and South Central Area. The thing that we have gotten most out of our motor home are our wonderful friends. We also have lots of room for may new friends. Song, "Pack Up all your cares and woses, Bye, Bye Blackbird" Herman

Dan, when in Kentucky make time to go to Bowling Green to the Corvette Museum. From what I understand they have restored all of the car that was swept up by the sink hole. Also you wont be that far from Nashville, Tennessee. Yes even folks from Massachusetts like Country Music, I think. Herman

Looking for Wireless Router
hermanmullins replied to royclem's topic in RV Internet to Go/Staying in Touch
Roy, We have AT&T with their Family Plan. We have two phones with unlimited calling and text with10 gb Data. Each phone is $15.00 each and the 10 gb Data is $100.00 for $130.00 plus taxes and before Veterans Discount. AT&T has just added Data Rollover to their plan. I know that unused data rolls over to the next month but I don't know if it accumulates each month or just carries over to the next month. With this setup and our smart phones we use our smart phones as hot spots and can get on line anywhere we can receive a signal. The device that you get from your carrier will cost you an additional $20.00 / month because it is another phone line you have, That is something they wont tell you until you ask. Herman -
Lyle, both Carl and I would both like to understand is why the High Price. I recently replaced my complete step assembly, Kwikee single step, for $350.00 plus freight from the PPL in Houston. I did install it myself. This is why we are questioning the $3,500.00. We just think that is exceed ling high. Maybe you can set us straight, we don't want to upset you. Herman

John B., Glad you had a good experience with you repairs. For everyone's benefit as well as the shop's can you give out a little more information. Sometime we are very quick to condemn a company or person for shoddy work. The worst kind of advertising, is word of mouth. And sometimes we fail to recognize those that provide great service. So how about some of the best kind of advertising, Word of Mouth. By the way, come back to TEXAS anytime. Herman
