  1. I am not sure about NY but when we went to Madison for the FMCA Convention we found many of the RV Parks listed Full Hook Ups, but that meant they had Electric, water and a Dump sight when you were entering or leaving. We found that most KOAs did in fact have full Hookups. Water/Electric/Dump. I am like you Rich about NY, Been There, Done That, but turned down the Tee Shirt. Herman
  2. When we went to Chandler we left Deming at 6 am because of the wind. We got through the area between Lordsburg NM and Wilcox AZ before the winds got up. Three friends of ours weren't as lucky. They were detoured up north which added about an extra hundred mile to their trip. We plan on doing the same this year. We will leave no later than 6 am on the 20th. Herman
  3. If it were me I would stay away from New York. Herman
  4. Tim there are two types of solenoids. One is mounted on the starter while the other is mounted away from the starter. A trick you do on either is tap on either type with a hammer. Then try to start the coach. After that you can try jumping the solenoids. On the remote mount jump across the two large post. On the one mounted on the starter jump large cable to the smaller post. If either test starts your generator then the solenoid is bad. And yes they can go and just sitting. Let us know how it turns out. Herman
  5. Tim, How are the Chassis Batteries? Are the fully charged? If you replaced the Starter did you replace the starter solenoid at the same time? To me it sounds like one of two things. Low batteries or bad solenoid. All in my humble opinion. Herman
  6. If you are coming down from Akron and coming through Little Rock on I-30. I would just stay on I-30 all the way through both Dallas and Fort Worth. I-30 will merge with I-20 on the West side of Fort Worth. I-30 will end there. When getting into Dallas you will come to an area where I-30 goes one way, I-30 goes another way and I-35 gets into the mix. Just pay attention to the overhead signs and you should be alright. If you need any RV spots along the way here are a few. Weatherford, TX-- Oak Creek RV Resort right on I-20. Abilene, TX -- Whistle Stop RV Park, on the left side of I-20 Van Horn, TX -- Wild West RV Park, on I-20 BZ Deming, NM -- Dream Catcher RV Park (an Escapee Park $20/27 per night) Hope this helps. Herman
  7. Roger, One question,"Finally fill holding tank and hot water tank with fresh city water through a new in-line filter." Why would you fill your holding tank? Did you mean to say Fresh Water Tank? Herman
  8. I wonder if they sanitized that plunger before Jim Carey filmed that scene? Herman
  9. Tim, Sorry but I will disagree with you about using a 30 to 15 amp converter to run an A/C. At most all houses run 14 gauge at most 12 gauge wire on their 15 amp receptacle. IMHO wakury would be asking for trouble. So I will stick to my first statement and say 10 gauge wire from a 30 amp breaker to a RV 30 amp receptacle. I alway lean to the safe and sure side. Just mt thoughts. Herman
  10. Now that the funniest thing I have heard all day. 😂😂😂 Carl flexing 😂😂 Herman
  11. As Brett alluded to DO NOT PLUG INTO A 30 AMP DRYER OUT LET. IT PROVIDES 240 VOLTS. You will need a RV 30 amp receptacle wired with one 30 amp 110 volt Hot leg, one Neutral and one Ground. Herman
  12. As has been said, Welcome to the Forum. The outside of a tire can look perfect while the inside is bad. With 9 year old tires you are living on borrowed time. My advice is replace ALL of the tires NOW for the safety of you and your family. (PLEASE) Herman
  13. The first question is "How far do you need run to plug in?" Also you will need a 30 amp receptacle and breaker to supply power. I hope you weren't planning on using a standard 14 gauge extension cord. You will need a minimum of 10 gauge cord with 30 amp connectors. All of this is assuming your coach is only 30 amp and one A/C. Herman
  14. When in Perry at the Convention and you are at the entertainment, look up high on the left hand side. It is an awesome sight. The chains are run through shackles. Herman
  15. Hopefully he will come back. He joined 13 hr ago. What Dallas traffic?? Herman
  16. They are called 'The Dallas City Council" 🦃's Herman
  17. And still going strong (thanks to the good Lord) I don't think I will be hijacking the topic if I mentioned the so many thing I have seen change in my lifetime. At least 4 wars. 14 US Presidents Crank phones to cell phones Cars you had to crank to start, to cars that park themselves Pencil and paper to computer From talking face to face, to sitting across from each other and texting to one another. From the first non stop flight from coast to coast to putting men on the moon and bring them back From the bi-winged plane to jumbo jets. I can't wait to see what is next!
  18. Joe although they are quite the same I have run Yokohama's on my 2011 Silverado 1500 and are very pleased with them. I have about 27,000 miles and them and the wear has been good. Those are miles on the speedo but add about 10,000 more towing. I will go with them again when I need to. Herman
  19. What was that, when car had to be started with a crank in the front and you wrote with an ink well and a quill pin on parchment? Herman (PS: I know I am older than you)
  20. But Carl those may cost more but they aren't on the program. Herman
  21. I never heard of Toyo tires and they are not listed in the FMCA offerings. Sorry no they aren't on the FMCA Tire Program. I got them because, IMHO, they are good tires. I have about 15k miles with no issues. Ride is a bit better than GY G670s. Herman
  22. I sent a PM to the OP, but no response yet. Herman
  23. Great picture Ray, thanks for reminding us what it's all about. Herman
  24. Goodyear G670's have a tendency to wear the outside of the steer tires. I have had good luck with my Toyo's. They wear good and are 1/2 the price of Michelins. Herman
  25. I remember that Joe once said he was once a Volunteer Firefighter. Herman
