Heritage Oaks RV Park near Fredericksburg, TX
hermanmullins replied to fagnaml's topic in Campgrounds
Wayne, our chapter, Lone Star, had a Rally scheduled for Miller Creek this coming April. They contacted us to let us know that they were cancelling the Rally and that they would no longer have Rallies at their park. They are full of snow birds for the winter and very few if any groups have rallies in Texas in the summertime. You are correct it was a nice park and the Rally room was adequate. Lone Star's April Rally, the 16th to the 18th, will now be at Bushman's RV Park in Bullard, Texas Bullard is about 8 mile south of Tyler on US Hwy 69. We would love to have you or anyone else out their that would like to attend. If you would be interested just send me a PM and I will be more than happy to send you the information. So from a swabbie to a jarhead Semper Fi. Herman -
Do you have a "Gas Detector"? If so it may have detected an odor and shut off. I had a faulty on once and kept a can of air, the kind for computers, that I would blow into the unit and it would reset the solenoid. I did that till I got a replacement. I think it took me about a year to replace it. Herman

Stump, Welcome to the Forum. Might I suggest that if you have the "Tie Rod Ends" off that you take them to a NAPA store and ask them if they can come up with a part # that will work. The ones I have dealt with in the past love a challenge. If my memory serves we, most front end part on a P-30 chassis are GM parts. Good luck, Herman -
Welcome home Shipmate. I was an East Coast Sailor also. Herman

One thing I do and instruct all of my parker's to do is not try to help a person when they are unhooking or hooking up. Everyone has their own routine and when you try and help you disrupt that routine. It may sound like you don't care but you will be doing them a favor so they won't miss a step. Be a friend, watch and only step in if asked. Just my two cents worth. Herman

Sky, When we built our home I had LED lights put in under each of my kitchen cabinets. I got them at Lowe's and they came in several lengths. You might take a look on their website to see what they have. We are going on 6 years and they are working great. Herman

Ray, do you leave your Norcold on 24//7/365? When we had our Norcold we turned it off when not in use. I must say when it worked it did a good job. But after doing the two recalls and having the second one done three time, replacing the Board then having it die, we went to a residential. Ours was in our coach from 2002 through 2017, 15 years. We have our Samsung residential on 24/7/365 with no issues. I suggest that anyone that has a Norcold to install a fire suppression system of some sort. Several year ago I visited Colaws RV Salvage Yard in Carhenge, MO. It was really sad to see so many coaches that had been on fire. The majority of then fires had started in the ares of the refrigerator. Now off my soap box. Herman

bubba, Welcome to the Forum. There is so much more to FMCA than just the Forum. There are Chapter you may join were you meet and make lifelong friends. Chapters are the backbone of FMCA. There are the benefits such as the FMCAssist program, the tire programs, fuel discount card, WIFI connections and so much more. Here is a short list that you will add to as you go. If you get it out to use and hook up, unhook it and store it back where you got it (so you can find it the next time). Check the roof, if you put it up make sure to put it down before moving. Jacks that go down to level must go up to travel. Most of us learn every time we go out . When something goes wrong it will go on your checklist. So go and enjoy the best is yet to come. Herman

I have always gone by the adage that if the steering wheel shakes the front tires are out of balance. If your seat is shaking it's the rear tires that need balancing. Herman

That's great, but $1.12 per gallon savings is a bit hard to understand when everyone talks about $0.35 to 0.45 per gallon. If that is what you got great. Here in our community our diesel is running $2.34 per gallon. Herman

IMHO Ford messed up when they dropped the 460 engine. It was a workhorse. Herman

Jim I calculated your figures. 196 gallon and saved $220.00. That remarkable, you save $1.12/gallon. Herman

Your welcome. My Winegard dome had the dip switches I mentioned. Your's seem to be able to make the changes from the inside. Let us know how it turns out. Herman
