  1. Would be an interesting trip. You could stop on the eastern seaboard at The Mystic Seaport Museum. https://www.mysticseaport.org/ Bill
  2. Well Carl, I went back and read what I posted 2 more times. Strangely nowhere did I make that claim. I simply posted a comment back to Wayne, who had just posted about places near him. I simply posted "with links" to a couple interesting areas. Yes I did post to DBenoit about the Big Tex. True it may not be a prime beef steakhouse up to your exacting standards but the steaks are edible and the ambiance is interesting. Some even like the bit where they will pick you up at your campground in one of their vintage limos and take you home again. Bill
  3. No but you could sail your boat all the way. This will get you to Lake Michigan. https://www.imusgeographics.com/great-lakes-to-the-gulf-of-mexicoby-boat From there it is only a "short sail" to the mouth of the Saint Lawrence river and Clayton. Those lakes arn't all that big.😋 Bill
  4. I can't open the pictures. If you go look at the videos I posted and you can search for more you should be able to do it. Bill
  5. That would definitely get them moved off my list of potential coaches. Bill
  6. First I had heard you can't tow with a 2500 Allison. Bill
  7. So can you please tell us how do we know if the "qualified tire dealer" knows what they are talking about? So can you please tell us how do we know if the "qualified tire dealer" isn't just trying to make the sale and move us down the road? I think you have a much better chance if you are a informed consumer. What I am talking about is linking the tire on the FMCA list to that tire on the manufacturers website. Look at the Hankook list of tires. They don't tell you what load range the tire is. I think they could have someone buy the wrong tiers because they are looking at price only and go to " a qualified tire dealer" and he sells them what customer ask for. Bill
  8. Yes the 6.7 is the upgraded 5.9 that I have. You just have to downshift and keep your rpm up (Don't lug the engine) watch your EGT and you can climb any hill. Bill
  9. Wayne, you need to come up north. We have towns that were re invented as dining destinations. Like Roanoke they were nothing and now have over 50 restarants and still building. https://roanoketexas.com/DocumentCenter/View/2025/Roanoke-menu-v29 Then we have places like Southlake. Small bedroom community that kept growing and moving upscale. Well they didn't have a downtown and the city hall was in a old building and to small. So they hired a big name architect and built a down town and town square. I did a little research The median home value in Southlake is $677,000, I did say it is upscale. https://www.opentable.com/landmark/restaurants-near-southlake-town-square-shopping-center Bill
  10. I posted this in the little pop up window but am repeating it here. The Hankook listing is next to useless. There is no way to tell what the load range is on the different tires. Maybe you can add a link to that tire on the company's website. That wouldn't hurt for all the tires. Right now there are several people on the forums that are confused about the tire information. If there are 2 posting I bet there are 200 who don't post. These are people we may lose because they are unhappy with the service. Bill
  11. I have to agree This shouldn't be that hard. Bill
  12. Here is a place you definitely need to pin. The Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo on Route 66. They have a FREE steak just for you. https://www.bigtexan.com/ Bill
  13. Welcome to the forum. I haven't driven that route. It looks like about 385 miles on google maps. It did look like a fairly nice 2 lane road but a little narrow. I would use RV park reviews and RV-Parkey to look for places to stay. Someone will probably be on later who knows the area better. Bill
  14. Here is anouther BBQ place that should be on your bucket list, Angelo's BBQ. They are known for more than just the bbq. They have large frozen mugs of beer. At one time they were the largest retailer of Budweiser in Tarrant Co. https://angelosbbq.com/About Bill
  15. pennzo, welcome to the forum. I found this app handy in comparing tire size. https://tiresize.com/comparison/ Bill
  16. Taste like chicken. Well tough chicken. Thought I would add to the list of realey good BBQ. These guys have won nearly all the BBQ cook offs in the world. This place started as their "test kitchen" It is still only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, till the meat is gone. http://bbqnorthmain.com/ Bill
  17. No just till he got far enough south it warmed up.🤣 Directley or using a water cooled intercooler?
  18. Something new. Never seen one never seen or heard of one before. I also have never had a problem with anything outher than oil vapor being sucked into my radiator.(fixed that) Never read about anyone having a problem with things hitting their radiator. If this is factorey I would rate it right along with the swinging rubber flap that is more for advertising than protection. That can be attributed to causing more damage than it prevents. Bill
  19. Well, you better do what makes the DW happy. Carl, I looked up the dates and we will be headed north about then. Bill
  20. Go look at Lagoons RV Resort and tell me what you think. Bill
  21. Haven't stayed there but have stayed at Lagoons RV Resort, nice park and at Mustang Island State Park. Mustang Island is nice but basic. I don't know what condition it is in after the last storms. Bill
  22. Ok, I thought it was further. Well it sounds more impressive that you drove 50 miles to come see me rather than 14. Bill
  23. Welcome to the forum. Yes I know about how fast you can burn through propane when it gets cold out. Adding a extend a stay is pretty simple if you are at all handy with tools. Here are a couple youtube videos that give you some idea of how it is to install. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rucge4w1UGA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ggWhFZPAmig Then if you want to be able to hook up your main tank to your bbq grill https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kbp4LiOjXbI Just be aware some people don't know that portable tanks are generally listed by how many pounds they hold not gallons, as in 20# or 30#. I have found that a 40# tank is as big as I want to deal with. If after watching the videos and you can't see how to plumb it in take some pictures please. Let me know if you have any questions. Bill
  24. Yes, Joe was able to point me at Country Acres Campground but it was, what 50 miles from where he lives. Nice campground. Bill
  25. Not yet Herman but working on it. Till we got tasked with hosting a rally We had never stayed in a park close to home. The usual first stop after leaving was Little Rock, Amarillo, Houston, or Odesa. We have visited more of the local campgrounds now. Mostly with the objective to see if they would be a good place to hold a rally, not if they would be "That Great Place to Stay" Most of the time they are the same though. Bill
