Finding an overnight site in very small town
wildebill308 replied to QuailPens's topic in Campgrounds
Welcome to the forum. Well I don't know. Not enough information to give a good answer. What Rv are we talking about? Where are we talking about? When are we talking about? All these things will factor into finding places to stay. Add in, do you need full hookups? Think about this, the smaller the town the less likely there is going to be a good place to stop (unless it is near a main/major attraction) because there is no demand for campgrounds. When planning trips and stops (Like Joe) I use RV apps like https://www.rvparky.com/, www.campgroundreviews.com, google street view. Bill -
Welcome to the forum. I don't have any experience with that coach, so I can learn something to. Is it gas or diesel? Bill

Yes we are having a cool rainey patch of weather. Must be why they call it the rainy season. TODAY: Cloudy skies with scattered (40%) showers during the day. Winds: SE 10-25. High: 68. TONIGHT: Cloudy skies with widespread (100%) showers and storms. Strong to severe storms possible. Winds: SE 10-20. Low: 56. WEDNESDAY: Widespread (100%) showers and storms in the morning. Activity moves east...then clearing skies and warm temperatures. Winds: SW 15-20. High: 72. Bill -

What were the prices he quoted, out the door? Have you checked the FMCA tire prices? Bill -

Lots of LBJ sites out that way including the ranch and boy hood home. Last time I was at the ranch it was like a time capsule. Everything was just like he had flown in on his plane(parked outside) even the 3 tvs so he could keep an eye on all 3 networks when he ate supper. I remember seeing it on the news one time and it looks exactly like it did. Bill

That is the whole problem CR-Vs don't like to be pulled with a CC. Just kidding I couldn't resist. Have you checked that the trickle charge is providing a charge? Just something to look at, when you turn the ignition switch make sure you don't slip past the acc spot. Double check that the headlights/running lights are not on. Met someone in a campground who was having problems with the battery going dead in his 2014 CR-V and if you weren't careful you could slip right past the ACC stop. I tried it and had a hard time feeling the little detent at least on his car. Let me know what you find. Bill

One of maney places you should check on near Fredericksburg is Wildseed Farms. It should be a good time of the year to go look at the wildflowers. Everywhere down there the road sides should be covered with bluebonnets. https://www.wildseedfarms.com/ "Wildseed Farms has been growing fields of wildflowers for the production of seed for over 35 years. We are the nation's largest working wildflower farm with over 200 acres in Fredericksburg Texas alone." Bill

You should have less sea fog there. That is more a suburb of San Antonio than the hill country. You are on the southern edge of The Hill Country" https://hill-country-visitor.com/hill-country-map/ Bill

There are lots of places. But I do recommend you get reservations as soon as you can. Smoky Bear Campground and RV Park, Anchor Down RV Resort, Camp LeConte Luxury Outdoor Resort, Twin Creek RV Resort. That should give you a start. Use RV Park reviews to see if you like them. Bill

How do I Purchase Fuel without Dollar Limits
wildebill308 replied to jeffdaley's topic in Type A motorhomes
I have the Pilot/Flying card and it works well. You do have to pay it off monthly. I really haven't had a problem using a debit or credit card. Having to re swipe isn't that big of a challenge to me. I like big truck stops because they are easy in out and the dispensers flow at a much higher rate. Be careful as diesel will foam and blow back up the fill tube if you aren't careful. The best card is my Kroger card when it has a $1.00 discount on it. To bad it is only good for 35 gal. Bill
