  1. One other thing to check is the bushings on the sway bar. Replacing bad bushings with stiffer polypropylene bushings helped my sway problem. Bill
  2. The good old days. While I wasn't Officially in any of those places I do have an Vietnam campaign ribbon. I was officially in Okinawa but did go on some no name TDY deployments. I wish I had kept some of the original "C" rats we had some had 1943 date stamps. Wayne you are right you can eat nearly anything with enough Tabasco on it. Bill
  3. Welcome to the forum. "we pursue our objective of finding just the right spot to situate our home base." How long is it going to take you to get to Texas? Bill
  4. Why? Ok,you must still be working. I have a motto, on the road by 9 off by 4 for happy hour. I no longer drive like I used to. I don't care if going across country or to south Texas. It has just taken 58 days to get to California From Texas. Bill
  5. Welcome to the forum Bill Good advice Bill, I alwas recomend a second opinion on things that are so subjective. Bill
  6. It wasn't all that spectacular or noisey. The blast blankets fluffed up a little and not much dust. I was a couple hundred yards away so it wasn't that loud. Bill
  7. I saw them blow a boulder in Colorado one time. They cover it with what they called blast blankets after the charges were placed. When the popped it and pulled the blankets off just a pile of rubble that could be easily moved. Bill
  8. If you look at the picture carefully you can see it has knocked a chunk of the road surface loose and pushed it out of place. I don't think they are going to move it with that small piece of equipment. Follow the link in the story to see water running down the main drag going into the park. Bill
  9. Bill, they look scarey. Bill
  10. This happened the day after I was on this same road. There are a lot of rocks that looked "loose" and I wouldn't want to park under one. http://fox13now.com/2016/08/10/zion-mount-carmel-highway-closed-after-huge-rock-falls-on-road/ Bill
  11. The main problem is geting an older coach financed if you need to. Most places won't loan on something 10 years or older, if they do it is credit card rates and short terms. Bill
  12. Ok I just need to ask "please don't tell me I should go metric" ? What is your thoughts that drive this. I don't care what method is used to measure as long as the tire is the right diameter and load range. Bill

I don't see a problem. It should be easy or hard depending on what the coach builder put in your way. If I remember correctly just follow the top radiator hose to the top of the engine. When you are ready to put the regulators back in fill the block to the bottom of the regulators. This will reduce the air pocket that needs to be bled off. A small pocket should not cause a problem. Bill
  14. Perhaps you should have done that before gushing on about what a great deal it was. Please tell us again about what a discerning detail orientated and meticulous inspector you are. Bill
  15. Welcome to the forum. Well I am there now. I am staying out in Leeds at Leeds RV Park & Motel, 97 Valley Rd, Leeds, UT 84746, leedsrvpark.com, (435) 879-2450. Nice place just off I-15 and about 30 miles from the park. When going to Zion go Early so you can get a parking spot. There are shuttles that will pick you up in town and along the street in Springdale but there still isn't a lot of parking. There are others closer to the park but the road up to Zion is better in your toad. For Canyonlands and Arches we stayed just past Moab at OK RV Park, 3310 Spanish Valley Dr, Moab, UT 84532, okrvpark.com, (435) 259-1400. This is a Passport America park and we spent 4 days for just over $100.00. We were there last week. For a great meal try Pasta J's in Moab. http://www.pastajays.com/pages/pjsmoab.php Bill
  16. I find it interesting that a great RV inspector like Rodger would not know about the Monaco problem with the 4 bagger trailing arms. Bill
  17. It is interesting that the right side that has a much longer arm doesn't vibrate or bounce around. I will see how my temp repair does tomorrow. Bill
  18. No problem with shocks or wheel balance, Just lots of rough roads. That and there weren't much in the way of threads left on the screws (I am talking wood screws). I will probably fab some aluminum plates with nutplates when I get home. I thought it might have screws with some kind of nut on the back. I tryed to tighten them but they were striped and woulden't tighten. Did I mention they were just cheap wood screws, to hold the heavy mirrors. Bill
  19. Why is the mirror vibrating so bad I can't see behind me? All the screws are striped and the threads are rusted off. Yes I said screws. Who would use just wood screws to mount a major component like the rearview mirror? Ok I know I am a little critical because I come from an aerospace background and can't imagine some of the things I have seen in RV construction. So for a temporary repair I put some larger screws screws back in till I get home (out back of Zion today) where I will do a more permanent and more robust repair. If your mirrors are vibrating you probably have a similar problem. Bill
  20. Welcome to the forum. I towed using a tow dolly all over New England and never saw or heard of any rules about not using a dolly. Bill
  21. Yes I have some experience at this, old gasket will stick to the bottom of the AC unit and if not removed may cause a leak path. The gluing I mentioned is if someone cut a gasket to install it, not what I would recommend. Bill
  22. I don't understand much either. I was trying to link to the discussion on DP front end alignment. Bill
  23. One thing I forgot to mention is to check the bottom of the AC to make shure it is clean with no old gasket stuck to it. Bill
  24. All that I have dealt with about 5 now all were one piece. It isn't that hard to pull the AC as you will want to clean the roof where the old gasket was. I used a couple pieces of 4X4 to set the AC on to keep from damaging the roof (makes it easier to pick up latter). I think you could cut a gasket and glue the ends back together but it is easy enough to just remove the unit to take the risk of not geting a good seal. Bill
