  1. When I was looking I did see a couple of 40' Foretravels with tags. This should be the perfect coach for the OP. https://www.motorhomesoftexas.com/Pre-owned-Inventory-2007-Foretravel-Motorhome-Nimbus-40-340-Nimbus-9252076?ref=list I am wondering what a Cat 425/455 horses and 1200 foot pounds of torque is? Is that the different power levels it came in? My curent Cummins is 450 HP and 1550 Foot Pounds of torque. Bill
  2. sdgarfield, welcome to the forum. You said "I live in the northeast but will be making regular trips to bay area in California, and Phoenix AZ." Where in the NE? Just curious as I am in the NE most every year and I think some of the nastiest hills are up in that part of the world I think up in the White Mountain area and around Newry if you get off US-2 they just paved the mountingoat pathess. I have done all the "big" pases in the west to. all with a 38ft 300HP coach. I never had a problem getting over any of them. The biggest problem on maney of these places/passes is the traffic. You may have the HP to fly over them but if traffic is doing 30 you might as well just enjoy the scenery. The outhe big thing most who are concerned about not being able to fly over the top is you need to slow down for the decent on the outher side. Several of the passes out west require trucks to slow to 30 before starting down. So where is the benefit of flying over the top at 65-70+ then you have to jump on the breaks and engine brake to slow down for the descent? Bottom line I don't know of a diesel coach that won't go anywhere you want to go. Bill
  3. Wild guess but I think he is talking about the Battery Control Center. Many of the problems are from not having adequate 12 Volt power to operate the controls/circuit boards. Op may have damage some stuff with the batteries hooked up backward. Bill
  4. Yes each sow can have 10 piglets twice a year. Had some guys that worked with me had a great part time business. They were trapping wild hogs and selling them at the livestock auction. They weren't getting top dollar but it was low overhead. Bill
  5. Yes it is to bad about this year. Just a thought, there will be a Rally at Buckhorn RV resort -Kerrville Tex. Dec. 3-5. Put on by The Lonestar Chapter. There will be one September 24 - 26, 2020 at Choctaw KOA - Durant, OK Put on by The Lonestar Chapter. Same place November 12 - 15 by The Red River Rovers. Note we were there in June and it is a great campground. I am shure there will be more suggestions. Ask Carl about the Cruisin Cajuns (I think that is there name) Bill
  6. I ran Continental load range H on my last coach and it called for load range G. I did not notice any problem with ride. Like Richard said go weigh your coach and use the manufactuers weight/ inflation table for your air preshure. Bill
  7. What Rv do you have? If you add it to your signature it saves having to ask. Keep in mind the list Hermon posted are spread out. What do you want to see and do? Not far from you is the Watkins Glen area with several interesting things to see. Like Montour Falls is a village With a waterfall at the end of West Main Street. Or Watkins Glen State park https://parks.ny.gov/parks/142/ Or The Corning Museum of Glass, https://home.cmog.org/ Going south towards LI is Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site, https://www.nps.gov/hofr/index.htm When in the area we stopped for lunch at the CIA. That is The Culinary Institute of America where they train some of the best chefs in the world. https://www.ciachef.edu/?utm_source=gmb&utm_medium=organic If you haven't been to the falls in a while it is always fun. If you need more just ask Bill
  8. Herman o you have a head count on how many you expect yet? Bill
  9. Vote early Texas voters can also vote before Election Day. The early voting period runs from Tuesday, October 13, 2020 to Friday, October 30, 2020, but dates and hours may vary based on where you live. What to bring You will be asked to show photo ID to vote in Texas. Acceptable forms include: Texas driver's license issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS); Texas election ID certificate; Texas personal ID card; Texas handgun license; US military ID with photo; US citizenship certificate with photograph (doesn't need to be current); or a US passport. Forms must be current or expired less than four years. For voters aged 70 or older, the acceptable form of photo identification may be expired for any length of time if the identification is otherwise valid. Voters without ID: If you don't have ID and cannot obtain one due to a reasonable impediment, you'll need to sign a sworn statement that there is a reason why you don't have any of the accepted IDs, and present one of the following: certified birth certificate; valid voter registration certificate; or a current utility bill, government check, bank statement or paycheck, or government document with your name and an address. If you meet these requirements and are eligible to vote, you may vote in the election. If you don't have ID and do not have a reasonable impediment to obtaining one or did not bring ID to the polling place, you may cast a provisional ballot. In order to have the provisional ballot counted, you will be required to visit the voter registrar's office within six (6) calendar days of the date of the election to either present one of the forms of photo ID or submit a temporary affidavit, or, if applicable, qualify for the disability exemption, in the presence of the county voter registrar while attesting to the fact that you do not have any of the required photo IDs. Seams simple you can go any time the polls are open and you can go when there a no crowdes. Bill
  10. OK take some more pictures. Show me the cable going to a ground on the frame. Bill
  11. We had a good time there with the Red River Rovers a while ago. I think more states should have early voting like Texas. If you have mobility issues you can even vote from the curb. You are right Carl this virus is smarter than Santa Claus. If you have been rioting and looting with strangers you are ok but don't go vote or go to church because you are going to get it. Bill
  12. That is a great area. Congratulations on your 40th wedding anniversary. Bill
  13. There is a BIG difference in touching and leaving scratches in the paint all down the side. Why would you not keep the branches cleared out if your are catering to RVs? Most are about the same height and width so that should be pretty simple to keep brush and limbs cleared out so they don't touch/drag on the RV. So tell me how driving skills can compensate for a poorly maintained RV park. Bill
  14. I think etrailer may be a good place to look. call them and ask. Bill
  15. Welcome to the forum. I would look at places like etrailer.com. What is the number cast into the tail light? Bill
  16. Go to YouTube there are several post about wintering in a RV. I don't know as I don't do snow in the RV. I would get setup now with a propane dealer with a couple big tanks. Bill
  17. The problem got better when they had to stop venting the crankcase blowby to the atmosphere. See all the post about "Slobber tubes".Not having a oily film to catch dirt and dust helped the radiator and CAC to stay clean. They still can get plugged up and it is in between the CAC and radiator where you will find the majority of the problem. Bill
  18. Welcome to the forum. We use several apps to check out places to stay. When in doubt just call. There is no governing body that polices what the places say. My fav is a place near Watkins Glen a couple years ago (I can't find the name right now). They had Big Rig Friendly all over their site. When I called and asked they said "Yes we are Big Rig Friendly we can handle rigs all the way to 30'. We didn't stay there. Bill
  19. Welcome to the forum Bud H. I would go with all the above and have the level of gear oil checked in the differential. When you get a new to you coach it is good to zero out the maintenance. Bill
  20. I leave the weight on the tires and have plywood pads under them. I dump the air and let the coach set on the bump stops during storage. Fortunately it doesn't sit to long we got back from a trip on Sep. 3 and plan to be on the road the 23. I haven't had any problems with the tires. Bill
