  1. When a hose clamp broke on my charge air cooler hose the motor had no power and it wouldn't even move. I had to fabricate a hose clamp from a coat hanger to get off the highway.

    Balancing Beads

Good to hear that they work.
  3. On my Fleetwood Discovery the Power Gear jacks are mounted to the frame rails. When the rear jacks are down the frame twists a little and the jacks angle outward some. I used chain and a large turnbuckle to hold them straight and so far it seems to work.
  4. If you are saying that the motor still works and stops before it aligned try manually moving it further.
  5. We have been using a full queen Denver mattress for 3 years. We spend about 200 nights a year in the coach. It hasn't sagged like most of the others we have tried. We are happy with it.

    Balancing Beads

I just installed balancing beads but have not gone for a ride yet. The biggest problem that I've been told is the clogging of the valve stem so the the valve stems that come with the beads have a filter to prevent that from happening. The balancing beads have been around for years, I am only trying them now because a manufacturer of the beads sent me a set to try on my coach to evaluate.
  7. We traveled the full length of the Alcan in 2001 with standard Michelin 235/80r22.5 tires. No problem. The only travelers that had tire problems were those with trailers. Must have been at least 2 dozen we saw with blown tires.
  8. I think it was the matching of the wheels because I had I think 3 sets of tires and it wasn't until I switched the inner wheels the problem was corrected. I have moved the Alcoas to my new to me coach and they still are smooth.
  9. I had a vibration 58-62 mph and couldn't find the problem. Had centrimatics and changed tires, still vibrated. I then swapped the inner duals side to side (Alcoa wheels) and no more vibration.
  10. What do you have for house batteries?
  11. If your fridge draws 3 or 4 amps remember that is at 120 volts. If you are inverting from 12 volts that could be10 times that current draw on the batteries depending on the inverter.
  12. If you go to a residential fridge make sure it has warranty in a motorhome. I installed one and the compressor locked up in 8 months and they told me there was no warranty because it was installed in an RV.
  13. Is your tech an authorized factory certified working at a dealership for the chassis?
  14. Check with the salvage yards such as Bontraggers in Mi. They have quite an assortment of sofa sleepers brand new at a fairly reasonable price.
  15. I built a 3 valve manifold for the fresh water hose. One goes into the black tank, one into the gray tank, and the final is to flush the hose. I have a dedicated hose for this purpose. When I finish dumping the black tank I close the valve and fill it with fresh water for 3 minutes, I have an electronic timer solenoid valve. Then I dump it again, repeating if it is still not clear. Same procedure for the gray tank. The last thing I do is to flush the sewer hose with fresh water.
  16. I saw him last summer and he was still good with it.
  17. A friend of mine tows a H2 behind a MountainAire and has for at least 10 years.
  18. Solar works without being plugged it. It only needs sun!.
  19. Try NAPA I think to old number for a continuous duty relay is a ST85 but I think it has been superseded. If you look on eBay for an electric golf cart relay you can get one there also.
  20. Looks smoother than some of I5 that I was on last summer.
  21. I have been using Full River AGM for 2 years. The thing I noticed was that the voltage is a little lower when at full charge. The staying power seems ok, just that the voltage is about .2 volt lower through out the range. When I first got them I thought maybe there was something wrong so I took them out and had them sent back to be checked. They said they were ok.
  22. Thanks for the update. Going to a Air Dog system is a total replacement of a few parts such as fuel lines, 1/2 id suction (part of the kit) a return line to the tank and brackets for the pump and filters. Well worth the effort.
  23. The K&N filter is a good idea. If an installation shows a dirt trail down the intake that is probably caused by a faulty installation, not sealed properly. If a filter is faulty by design it would be passing minute amounts of dirt with the air mixture and would not leave dirt trails you could see. The lift pump is easy to replace however when it was new it was marginal as it has only 6-7 psi to the vp44. The weak point of the ISB is vp44 as the expected life span is about 100K miles. My new to me coach had 99,865 miles on it and a failed lift pump so after researching the situation I decided to go with an Air Dog complete fuel delivery system which provides the vp44 with 15 psi of clean airless fuel because it has its own return line. The vp44 I used was built by Thoroughbred for the 275. It has more power than when I first got the coach.
  24. I would check on the availability of parts and service across the country for the Maxxforce engine.
