One should do research on handling before considering buying a coach. Very important is the WB/OL which should be more than 54%. When I had my coach weighed mine was just at that point and I have a 36 ft diesel pusher. My coach tracks very good and is easy to drive.

Advice On Selling Our 2004 Safari Panther

It sure does. Had the new one painted the same color and design as the old one. -
As far a turning it makes a difference how far the pivot point is from the rear axle. The longer it is the wider the turning radius of the dolly. I had to lengthen my pivot point to prevent the bumper of my Silverado from touching my bumper on the motorhome. I found that the additional length made the truck have a wider radius.

ARP is automatic refrigeration protection control. It monitors the boiler temp and shuts down the heat when it rises in the unsafe range, around 400 degrees, and then comes back on when it drops in temp to a safe zone. It works very well, I have been using one for several years. You don't have to worry if you are not level for a short period of time or going up a long grade.

Advice On Selling Our 2004 Safari Panther

I just sold my old motorhome that I had listed on Craigslist. I had it listed in Mohave County in Arizona only but was amazed that I was getting inquiries from thousands of miles away. I ultimately sold it for more that I had listed it for in 5 weeks. Just completed the deal 2 weeks ago after picking the buyer up in Las Vegas. He was from the northwest some 1500 miles away. -
I would be cautious doing business with shade pro. I bought 4 window awnings and 1 main awning fabric from them at the Chandler FMCA convention. I installed the window awnings ok. When I installed the main awning I discovered that it was made too small. I have a Dometic electric One Step. I had given them all the information that they requested and they told me they could make the fabric to fit even though it would be a little different at the attachment to the weather guard. The one they sent me was 4 inches too narrow and 3 inches too short. The width was not as important but the length was because it would not let the awning extend all the way so the arms would be straight, lowering the roller tube down about 12 inches and putting the correct slope on the awning. They refused to to remake it to the correct size saying the only thing they would do was to make a soft connect 3 inches wider to make up the shortage. That would make the aluminum weather guard start half way around the roller tube when rolled up showing the soft connect. Not acceptable. I had a local upholstery shop cut and extend the fabric to the correct length however its still too narrow and I will have to live with that.

The Lifetime looked like a Winnebago of the 60s. Boxy with a reverse slope windshield.

I have Onan generators in 10 or so different coaches starting with a 69 Lifetime I had in 74. I've had quite a few different models of Onans but this Marquis is the quietest. It is in a 98 Discovery still 19 years old.

I have a Onan Marquis 6.5 LP which is surprisingly quite.

It bolts to the frame just like a boat trailer frame. It pivots and swings horizontal for travel.
-
I used a standard boat trailer dolly but I changed the wheel to a much larger one to make it easier to roll on gravel.

To overcome the problems with surge brakes I removed the surge master cylinder and installed a solid coupler on the tongue. I installed an air over hydraulic master cylinder, operated by the air brakes on the coach through the air relay. They worked too good so I had to put a pressure regulator at the connector to reduce the braking force.

We always enjoy the outer banks islands. The federal parks are primitive with no hookups.

Try wiring the motor direct to the battery to see if the motor will run when it won't with the step harness.

Check the exhaust system for leaks. The Onans of this era are not very quite.

When a hose clamp broke on my charge air cooler hose the motor had no power and it wouldn't even move. I had to fabricate a hose clamp from a coat hanger to get off the highway.

Good to hear that they work.

On my Fleetwood Discovery the Power Gear jacks are mounted to the frame rails. When the rear jacks are down the frame twists a little and the jacks angle outward some. I used chain and a large turnbuckle to hold them straight and so far it seems to work.

If you are saying that the motor still works and stops before it aligned try manually moving it further.

We have been using a full queen Denver mattress for 3 years. We spend about 200 nights a year in the coach. It hasn't sagged like most of the others we have tried. We are happy with it.

I just installed balancing beads but have not gone for a ride yet. The biggest problem that I've been told is the clogging of the valve stem so the the valve stems that come with the beads have a filter to prevent that from happening. The balancing beads have been around for years, I am only trying them now because a manufacturer of the beads sent me a set to try on my coach to evaluate.

We traveled the full length of the Alcan in 2001 with standard Michelin 235/80r22.5 tires. No problem. The only travelers that had tire problems were those with trailers. Must have been at least 2 dozen we saw with blown tires.

I think it was the matching of the wheels because I had I think 3 sets of tires and it wasn't until I switched the inner wheels the problem was corrected. I have moved the Alcoas to my new to me coach and they still are smooth.
-
I had a vibration 58-62 mph and couldn't find the problem. Had centrimatics and changed tires, still vibrated. I then swapped the inner duals side to side (Alcoa wheels) and no more vibration.
