  1. Calm down, the stains will come off with the right cleaner. Your plumbing is not harmed permanently, nor is your water heater-which may be flushed out with a heater cleaning wand. I had reasonable success filtering out the red floating iron with an ordinary whole-house sediment filter. Got into that situation at a CG on well water near a lake. After 8 hours the entire filter cartridge was red and had floating specks in the clear housing. Since I always travel with a full fresh water tank I left it untouched and had clear water for the next days traveling. To be polite I removed the now-red cartridge and left it neatly on the picnic table on display. 😉
  2. My bad, I posted the wrong link, it should be https://www.amazon.com/McNally-Deluxe-Motor-Carriers-DELUXE/dp/0528024132/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=2022+Motor+Carriers'+deluxe+Road+Atlas+(Rand+McNally+Motor+Carriers'+Road+Atlas&qid=1625241564&s=books&sr=1-4 Now my reading and memory comprehension is called into question. Being old has its drawbacks. IMO the foremost quality of the deluxe version is the ability to use and reuse felt markers on the laminated pages if desired.
  3. Thanks for the snapshot Joe, that is the same link I posted initially.
  4. Either you guys are pulling my leg or you need a remedial reading class. How did any of you purchase the deluxe version for $17.96- from anywhere? post a picture of your receipt please.
  5. That''s for the deluxe version per the link, right? Or are you guys confused with standard edition and deluxe version?
  6. 2022 deluxe Rand McNally motor carriers road atlas from the Rand McNally website cost= $39.95 2022 deluxe Rand McNally motor carriers road atlas from Amazon cost= $79.96
  7. If you have an Allison A/T here are the HP and torque parameters of each one: https://www.allisontransmission.com/docs/default-source/marketing-materials/vocational-model-guide.pdf?sfvrsn=1bf83f1d_19 While searching for that I discovered many OTR truck forums with discussions of various problems with this engine in power units. Perhaps that's why your engine is de-rated.

  9. Welcome to the FMCA discussion forums! If the transmission is not disconnected from the driveshaft the internals of the transmission will still turn but not be lubricated. Only with the engine running does the automatic transmission oil pump operate to supply oil to moving parts.
  10. Your 8kw Onan genset should provide plenty of supply for your MH. Yes it has one 35A breaker, however it will power two 15Kw air conditioners according to the spec sheet. Battery drain is a common problem in unused MH's, even with the main house battery disconnect open there are hidden power draws. The only way to completely isolate the battery bank is to remove the negative battery cables or install a marine quality battery disconnect switch in the negative cable..
  11. Check to see if Hoover Dam has re-started tours of the inside of the dam and electricity-generating turbines.
  12. Yes, your GPS, if designed for RV use, should have options the user may set to tell the GPS the height, length, and weight of your RV. The GPS then compares that information to road information in the mapping software and only displays routes that meet the requirements/parameters you entered. If you have a standard GPS for autos, purchase a Trucker's Road Atlas so you may compare the GPS to the yellow-highlighted truck routs in said Atlas. Better yet would be to purchase an RV GPS to make trip-planning much easier and convenient.
  13. After inspecting that parts diagram blow-up I think I understand how and why it works. In Spartan/Hendrickson technical speak I suspect their definition of torque for this part is not the same as we are imagining. I can imagine the torque it absorbs to keep tandem axles aligned. (That's the former tool and die maker inside me thinking aloud) Don I assume you bit the bullet and had it replaced?
  14. A tax attorney knows how to advise you, hire one! There two different topics being discussed here, legal tax avoidance and tax evasion., your tax history comes into play for either.
  15. Etrailer.com explains how to hook up a brake controller in a MH: Brake Controller Installation for Motorhome with Air Brakes | etrailer.com
  16. Welcome to the FMCA discussion forums! I've never had one; I have read of owners removing the reel and repairing the 120VAC contacts in the electrical box. I seem to remember reading about that on a different RVing forum.
  17. That''s right, Richard, Michelin truck tire pdf contains a cautionary statement about non-use creating sidewall cracks. pg 8 of the Michelin RV tire handbook Michelin is the only tire mfgr. I''m aware of that issues such a statement or tire checking chart.
  18. HURAAY! All is well, enjoy your trip to Gillette. Watch the hot weather.
  19. I have an idea, good/bad I don't know. I wonder if reduced pressure compressed air into the kitchen sink with drain valve closed would dislodge any obstruction in the hidden vent pipe? Like hold a rag around the air nozzle for a few seconds at a time? Attempt at your own risk, that idea comes when I'm very tired. Today I mowed 1.5 acres, trimmed, then removed and installed a new dishwasher in our house. Now if my heart DR. would just allow a shot of bourbon or brandy I'd already be asleep instead of getting crazy ideas.
  20. I completely agree! Any RV electrician that doesn't know to re-tighten all connections( test them) first needs to go back through school. C988593_ Question; are you switching power sources while large amp. loads are running? That does cause problems eventually.

  22. Richard, if you plan to inspect your brakes the outer bearings must be removed anyway, EZ lube or not.
  23. That will be explained in your owners manual. It totally depends upon how you have your battery charger settings. In normal 3-stage charging it never quits charging, it will maintain a float charge forever unless you change the setting to a 2-stage charger, which is bulk, absorption, OFF. That's now my Xantrex RS2000 works.
  24. I intended to post the same link. That refined paper includes information formerly in different places. DO NOT use bearing buddy caps on axles with brakes unless the axle seal is designed for such use, like boat trailers. Regular trailer axle seals are not designed to be pressurized, and the bearing buddy has a spring inside to compress grease to keep water out of the bearings. It completely fills the hub with grease. Since Dexter recommends manually cleaning, inspecting, and re-packing wheel bearings every 12K miles or 12 mos. To me it's useless to just add grease via a zerk fitting, even for the Dexter E-Z lube axles.
