Until you can get it properly repaired, use a set of jumper cables between battery banks when on shore power to charge both banks at the same time.

You mention 15-20 yrs old. Keep in mind all the electronics and video components are now obsolete if they are OEM installations. I speak from personal experience.

If value and cost are important, check out Sailun truck tires. I had 6 275R70/22.5, LR H, put on our MH, final price I paid was $1,280. IMO they ride every bit as good and the Goodyear' that they replaced, and are all steel ply construction They were 4 months old when purchased, my tire shop followed my request. Sailun truck tires are made in Vietnam since 2017(purchase date was July 2018). P.S. I noticed Sailun truck tire prices have risen a bit since I bought.

Our MH is OLD, the slide imprint in the carpeting is very obvious after long periods with slide retracted. My solution is to use DW's Hoover upright sweeper, it raises the carpet fibers as it cleans. When I'm finished with several passes, the imprint is barely visible.

That is called "thrust angle" my rear axle was out 3/4". After the total alignment ours drove the same as your neighbor described.

👍 We agree, however that does not apply to a WDH when properly adjusted, as the hitch weight is distributed equally on rear and front axle.

I ruined a great old Seko watch by not removing the run-down button battery for a year; so removing the batteries applies to everything not used.

My cousin buys and sells junk autos and pickups, he makes more money from selling the old converters than on the rest of the entire vehicle these days.

Today you stated the generator starts fine, what changed? What were the battery test results?

"well more than it's actual weight to the rear axle"; What do you mean by that? Wildbill308 is correct, a trailer should place no more than 15% (10% is ideal) of total trailer weight on the hitch. Trailer axles are placed at the ratio of 60/40, 60% of trailer frame is in front of center of tandem axles-unless the trailer is a gooseneck or 5th wheel pin, those can be considerably more depending upon axle placement.

If you do not have a 150# compressor, any truck stop has the equipment to inflate truck and MH tires, you must specify the amount of tire pressure. You do not need higher inflation to flat-tow a vehicle vs not towing anything. Increasing or reducing tag-axle tire pressure is one way to add or remove weight from the front axle, I would remain at Federal Tire Placard stated tire pressures, until you have your MH weighed at each tire position.

She is about the same condition, I seriously doubt she will ever recover enough for extended traveling again. She has great difficulty speaking too(brain damage), and will not socialize. We've had a good run and will not sell our MH; she does want to winter in FL again this winter unless she begins feeling worse. The trip to and from FL will take a while as she can only travel ~250 miles at a stretch, then the back pain overcomes the meds; well, that's why our apartment has wheels- wherever we stop is home. Thank you for inquiring. I keep in mind, _in sickness and health until death do us part. I try to get out of the house when she feels like me being away from her. Today I replaced the MH coolant overflow bottle, the OEM Spartan replacement is $70, I bought a 1G tank from United Plastics + cap, I had to drill N tap the bottom for a 1/4" NPT hose barb and with all that, the installed tank cost $22 delivered.

Indiana Farm Bureau will not insure our MH, and all other ins is with them. I presently have Safeco ins on our MH through the Winnebago program, full coverage- $760/yr.

Several years ago I read an article from the RV industry stating there are more RV's licensed in the U.S. than there are camping sites. If everyone who owned an RV decided travel at the same time, there would not be camping sites for everyone. As Wayne said, supply and demand. Then there is the subject of land value, If an RVpark/resort owner cannot justify operating expenses, they have no choice but to raise rates or sell the land. Years ago a developer offered $1 million dollars a lot for owned land in a FL RV park on the East coast, IF everyone would sell at the same time. The deal fell through, but how can a park owner compete with that kind of land value? I don't like todays site costs, but what choice have we when boondocking is not an option-healthwise?

👍 When tires are running at their minimum air pressure for the load, they are running at their maximum/100%capacity.

Sanitizing Water And Holding Tank With Vinegar
rayin replied to tiffinphaeton's topic in Water and Holding Tanks
I've been saying that for years on a different RVing forum, however it doesn't seem to sink in for some people. I used to hold a CL A water treatment license from my state before retirement. If I do think I should sanitize my MH plumbing system I use Sodium Dichlor instead of household bleach, but it's not for the average citizen. -
Thank you Mr. Ball! That pdf, as written, is unsettling.

OK, now I know why I had never heard of the Heidi bowl, Uncle Sam had me preoccupied. I'd forecast there will be monetary repercussions from that decision to stay with the game.

Yep, and #2 is switching power sources under heavy load. F___, that looks like a new terminal block assy.

I remember fishing for lake trout in B.C. Five of us caught enough to have a fish fry for the entire caravan in about 1 hour. The only issue was the hook in my hand; that lake trout fishing was one of my best experiences.

An irv2.com member found the Sailun truck tire load/inflation chart. I'm ignorant at adding a link from a file download on my computer to this forum so I emailed it to tireman9 so he may add it to his listing of tire charts.

Who, What, When, Where or Just Lets Talk

I joined because their 2012 Alaska tour was 2/3 the cost of the Fantasy Alaska tour. Then did their Maritmes tour in 2014. -
Bill, I like to use the best, but I can't afford to use that much best on our MH. 😲
