  1. ObedB, Be careful up there, I understand that the ground is almost as hard in PA. as it is in Texas. Herman
  2. A number of automobiles have a filter in the air conditioning unit. In a lot of cases you have to stand on your head under the dash to change the filter. So they don't get charged very often. I don't know if any RV manufacturers install them. Herman
  3. Don't the slides have rollers on them? If so they may need to be lubricated or even changed. If they wont roll they will never stop leaving skid marks on the floor. Herman
  4. RL, "Keep the wind to your back, the sun to your face and the greasy side down + the duct tape on the light covers." The DW wont like it , but they wont be falling off any more. Herman
  5. Roland, When changing tires on the rear duals it is best to change all 4 at the same time. Changing both tires on one side and then the others later can have problems on your differential. When you change all 4 at the same time all 4 have the same circumference. But if you change just one side there will be a difference in the circumference from one side to the other. Though the difference is only slight they will still put a strain on the gears and cause problems down the road. On steering or tags tires the difference doesn't matter since they roll independently from one another. Herman
  6. Ditto on inspecting tires, always not just when they get past a certain time frame. Deep treads and beautiful and smooth side walls are nice, but you must look between the treads also. There is where you can find stress cracking. You can't see the cracks unless you get down and look between the treads. Be safe, not sorry. Herman
  7. Gmac, Just wondering, who told you that on your Cmax you cannot adjust the caster? I have never heard of the caster, camber and toe in on any vehicle not being adjustable. Herman
  8. On every 4 way plug there is a white wire. It is the ground and for some reason it is always very short. However it is a very important wire. Too many folks just leave it disconnected, saying , no problem it will get its ground through the hitch. (as well it can). Then they go and cover the ball in grease, kill the connection and wonder why their lights are dim or don't work . Always connect the GROUND wire. A loose or bad ground has caused more problems in homes, cars, boat trailers and RVs, then any one can imagine. Herman
  9. Tommy, I stand and salute you. Please keep us informed on "LZ". Thank you for your Service! Herman
  10. Calamity, Welcome to the Forum. Did you say you pull a 50 ft. Trailer??? Herman
  11. dc27526, Just a suggestion. Until you can find a solution you could connect your discharge hose straight out, drain your tanks then remove the hose. Then I would contact Newmar and see if they have a solution. Herman
  12. Gmac, I haven't noticed here as to whether you have had the Alignment checked after having the tow bar brought to close to level. Being that far out it may have changed the alignment specs. How does the vehicle drive under normal circumstances? Ok? (when not being towed). This may also be a bit far out but how are your tires? Belts can become loose, rims can be bent, you might try rotating the front tires with the rear tires. I am sure you have tried so many things and I hope you find the problem soon. Herman
  13. Carl, one thing I can assure you is that it won't be in 50s when you wake up tomorrow. Be safe. Herman
  14. Chris, one problem with park website pictures are how old are they. We have seen places that had beautiful pictures and when we arrived the place was the pits. I like to use http://www.rvparkreviews.com/ . But again how current are the reviews. A friend made reservations at a park based on trailer life book. Shrimp fry every Friday in the restaurant, when they arrived they found that the restaurant hadn't been opened in 3 years. I myself like to see a place before I put out my money. Herman
  15. Puff, Yours is a prime example why you need to always fill up when returning to home base. Happy sawing. Herman
  16. DO NOT CUT THE FRAME. Call Blue Ox. Sometimes you have an existing hole that must be drilled through the opposite side. This is done with the base plate in place to use as a guide. But please do not cut your frame. Herman
  17. Gp, Welcome to the Forum. Have you joined FMCA and if so have you joined a chapter? To check your batteries, be sure they are charged fully and pull a load test on them. This a good way to check their condition. My batteries have gone down several times due to inadvertently leaving the radio. It gets bumped on when you lest expect. Herman
  18. adrainey, As Carl said after the cap is turned part way it must be pushed down and turned. The cap should have the model number and pressure marked on the cap. If you still have difficulty getting the cap off, see if Carl's friend can com over and remove it for you. Herman
  19. mrblfx, Welcome to the Forum. I have had several Blue Ox units on several vehicles. On my last install, (2008 Chevrolet) I had to drill a hole for each base plate. It was spelled out in the instructions. If your instructions don't call for drilling give the tech dept a call. They can be very helpful. Herman
  20. Congratulations, beautiful coach. Herman
  21. Mark, does yours door have hinged arm at the top, that prevents the door from opening too far? If so one piece will have a raised dimple while the other will have a recess for the dimple to pop into to hold the door open. You can bend ever so slightly to make the door hold open.:-). Give this a try. Herman
  22. bbevers, Welcome to the Forum. You are correct, there was a recall on the trailing arms. However after Monaco's bankruptcy and. Uh out, that went away. Sorry. If you go back in this posting you will find a company that makes a replacement trailing arm that is much, much better then the original which was used in the recall. Wolfe 10 has the name. You can personal message him. Herman
  23. Ditto Carl, I have three Toll Tags, Car, Truck and MH. When we use a Toll Road it read the vehicle. When we are towing the truck with the MH it reads the MH and the truck. This works on all Toll Roads in both Texas and Oklahoma. That is nice. Kansas has the same agreement with Oklahoma but not Texas yet. They hope to have it in place soon. I sure wish there was a National Toll Tag. Herman
  24. Thanks, Carl did you get this? Herman
