  1. Ken, I can't speak on the Trailhawk per say but Blue Ox is a good choice. However if you run a line from the coach just for the brake, what happens if you have a brake away. Will the Blue Ox brake away still work? My suggestion would be to connect the brake system to your vehicle battery and run a charge line to keep the battery charged. Just a thought. Herman
  2. To be sure, check the tires Mfg. Dates on the coach. Make sure they are not more than 3 to 4 months old. But heck, you know that. Herman
  3. To expound on what Carl, Joe and Rich said, There are alway Battery Gremlins that try their darndest to suck down your batteries. As said if you have electricity where you store your coach, leave it plugged in. This will allow your inverter to maintain your house batteries. But you will need a small charger to maintain your chassis batteries. I have one that is plugged into my Block Heater outlet. It is only hot when your are connected to shore power or when running your generator. Mine is mounted in my battery compartment. It chargers my house batteries then maintains they 24/7 when it is in the barn. Hope this helps. Herman
  4. Wayne is correct. Even if dry camping in a WalMart parking lot will still cost you $25.00 +, I know from experience. When you go into the store just to ask for permission to park, which i always do, you will end up shopping. Herman
  5. 67, It sound to me like the heating element is burnt out. As Carl said call A/H and ask for a service center close to you. 800-685-4298 Herman
  6. Maybe being able to post to the Forum may have join FMCA. Then we may have a new member. a hard worker, a new chapter member and possibly volunteer, who knows. "Only the Shadow Knows" Herman

Barbara, Welcome to the Forum. It would help if you would post the make, model length and year of your coach. But as a start, since your husband was able to reach up and move the door lever coule he also feel if there is a hose connected to the back of the actuator that operates the level. It may be as simple as a loose or disconnected vacuum hose. Or if it is manual (a wire or cable) operation the wire or cable may be off. Either way if you could post the information on your coach someone with the same unit my have a solution. Glad to have you on the Forum, Herman
  8. Park on your new gravel and you can break it in with oil drips till you get the "O" ring. It's going to happen some time might as well be now then later. Herman
  9. When looking for fuses look everywhere. I am having an issue with one of my 12 volt lights in the front passengers side. I found a fuse panel in a compartment in the rear of the bedroom where the DW keep her sweaters. Friends have found panels in their closets, even had a friend that an RV service tech find a fuse wrapped up in a bundle of wires under has dash. Go figure. It's like the ole tail about a coke bottle inside a fender well with a note saying, "Bet you had a hard time finding this". Sometimes I almost feel the same about some RV builders. Now off my soap box. Hope you find the fuse. Herman
  10. Depends if your in the city limits or not. Some counties require them but only if you tell them that you are building something. When we built our Barn and then Home we didn't have any permits but we exceeded all known code requirements. Herman
  11. Elizabeth, I know this is a strange question, but by some chance have you by installed a chip to boost your Horsepower? If so that can present several problems. Herman
  12. A new coach should have a dish on it. Herman
  13. Tell Linda, no problem just a couple of months and she want have worry about it. Herman
  14. Wayne, I understand but Winegrad told me that their dome was not compatible with Dish's new signal. Any how I got a $1,295.00 satellite dish for $800.00. Herman
  15. I think it is about time to close this Topic. It has gone from "No Power to GFCI" to whether the inverter is turn on, to what the voltage is in the house batteries. Please feel free to start a new topic and we will try to keep it focused on answering your specific question. Herman
  16. Bill & Penny, Welcome to the Forum. Ross and Carl have a tremendous amount of sage advise to pass on to all that need it. Both are very active in FMCA on the National level. However I have to correct you in one place. It is Manholt not manhole, although it may be apropo. So keep those cards and letters coming and have fun in the warmer weather. Herman
  17. The same thing happened to Dish Network. If you have a Winegard contact them and ask if their Direct TV Dome will become obsolete. When it happened to Dish they sold their Dish satellite dish for a discount. I saved about $400.00 on mine. Good luck and don't forget to call if your dome is a Winegard. Herman
  18. When you have the TroubleShoot PDF copied, call VIP Vehicle Improvement Products. Asked for a tech. They will walk you through the entire test. I am willing to bet what you have is a bad control module. (A black box) My module is located in the Electrical Bay just in front of my drivers side wheel. Herman
  19. rereaves " Superior. I talked with one of the distributors this morning and it looks like the total cost would be between $1500 and $1800 depending on installation issues." I Had one put in my 2003 Extended Cab Silverado. They had to make me a new drive shaft since mine was aluminum. They made a 2 piece drive shaft with a carrier bearing and brace and mine was only $1,300.00 out the door. If I am not mistaken your drive shaft is steel and would only need to be cut and the disconnect installed. I am not sure of your location but mine was done be "DRIVE SHAFT KING in Dallas, Texas 214-941-7122" Herman
  20. Jamie, Again Welcome to the Forum. If it is a choice between lap or lap/shoulder, remember there is just one "Click It" in both and you need all the protection you can get. IMHO, go with the Lap/Shoulder set up. Happy and SAFE travels. Herman
  21. robrando, Welcome to the Forum. Sorry but this gentleman hasn't been back to the Forum since July 20, 2016. I doubt there are any pictures. But if you have an issue or have some sage advice when you see a current topic, chime in we can alway use new ideas and solutions. Herman
  22. bburns8, Have you solved your issue with your GFCI outlet? Herman
