  1. As stated, a good inspection of the tow bar may be in order. If one side did not lock, or jammed, the toad could be pulled at an angle.
  2. Congrats!!! Now it’s time to hit the road and use all you have learned👍🏻
  3. I recall our 94 wrangler had to be left unlocked. Sort of a chintzy setup and with the key in the ignition, especially if you have several keys on the key ring, It was easy to lock the steering column.
  4. If this is on a FreightLiner, look in the cabinet with all the 12 volt fuses or relays. Sounds like either a wire is loose or a fuse is blown. I had a bad pin in a connector plug and randomly the radio, map lights, step cover , windshield fans would quit working. Took me a long time to find the bad pin.
  5. Is it me or have you posted a similar thread on another site some time ago? in any event, you certainly were ripped off by this company and also shows another really good reason to do a thorough PDI before taking delivery.
  6. I agree, sounds like the steering wheel was locked. I don’t know when Jeep stopped locking the steering wheels however I think it was after 2007. I don’t recall any problem with steering during that time frame either.
  7. Dually or larger for that size 5th wheel.
  8. Op has not returned or responded so I guess we’ll never know.
  9. You don’t mention if this all happening at the same power pedestal , if so, there could be a problem at the pedestal. What make and model is the EMS? If this occurring at different pedestals, I would suspect the EMS unit is bad. I have read recently about a few portable Progressive 50 amp units going bad. or.....are we talking about the transfer switch? These are suppposed to have a limited surge protection. If this is where the problem lies then it most likely is the transfer switch going bad or a poor connection in the switch.
  10. I would buy a Tiffin 36LA. Had a WB gasser in 2012, very poor workmanship and materials. Almost bought the 36LA but happened to look at the Phaeton next to it..😉
  11. What make, model and year Mh do you have? Most RV taillights are from the automotive industry like Herman says. Most likely a sealed unit except for the plug in bulb.
  12. LED flicker is usually caused by another appliance being on the same circuit, especially a furnace. It can also be caused by a dimmer switch being turned down too far (ie. low voltage ) Diodes at the flicker source have helped
  13. I suspect your inverter. If it’s looking for a certain amperage and does not get it, it shuts down. Don’t know what your “tech” did but at this point it might be ruined..
  14. Sorry that I can’t help you with your wiring problem as we are in NM but I strongly suggest you invest in a Progressive EMS for your coach. It would have prevented the problem you are now facing. Did this “ tech” check the transfer switch and the inverter?
  15. You said the batteries were good. I just can’t imagine the water level has not dropped after 6 months of steady use. The water was up to the split rings on each cell ? And as mentioned , you still might have a bad battery. Remove and clean all the battery connections. running the MH engine for a few minutes is not good. Either let it sit or drive the MH for at least 30 minutes or more. The genset as mentioned should be run once a month for about 1 hour or more on at least half load, this is to keep the generator wiring etc dry.
  16. I agree, we even had a bag of potato chips explode. We bought the bag on the east coast at sea level. The bag exploded at about 6300 feet in NM. Certainly got our attention.
  17. As well as the property line offsets on each side, also consider the shore side, most states have substantial offsets from the water for environmental concerns etc. when we built in coastal NC, we had to be over 150 feet from the water’s edge.
  18. And depending on what tech you get, you’ll probably get a different answer like most suppliers.
  19. You might have to revert to dolly towing if you are set on towing the Sienna.
  20. I know this may not be popular but has anyone looked at the hand tools offered by Harbor Freight? They now sell polished wrenches that are in my opinion just as good as Craftsman and look like Snap-on and at a significantly lower cost
  21. I would be very careful about putting a Jeep on a dolly. Don’t specifically know about the Cherokee but Wranglers Cannot be towed on a dolly , only 4 wheel down because of the transfer case. the new 2018 JL models of the Wrangler now have electric steering , probably the same as the Cherokee, it will be interesting to see if corrections were made for the JLs or will the same problems occur.
  22. First thing I would check is the output of the genset. Are you getting power to both legs? Check the breakers on the genset. #2 sounds like a bad start capacitor if it’s drawing that much or a frozen compressor. Either way, they should be under warranty. Give a Mobile tech a call that services them.
  23. I guess 6h/d means 6 hours a day? Why don’t you just leave it on 24/7 and not worry about whether the batteries are charged enough. On our Phaeton we could turn off the inverter but batteries still would be charged. There was a seperate charger for the chassis batteries as well.

    Engine Braking

I have run into experts like the one you spoke with at one time or another. I just nod and agree, later I just shake my head and wonder how these folks survive RVing..:)
  25. Yes, the grid heater and yes on ours it cycles for a few minutes or less depending on the temps.
