  1. Welcome to the forum. I would find out what your 2 most important RPMs are peak torque and max governed RPM. When climbing you want to stay at or above peak torque and under your Max governed speed. When you are climbing you want to be in a gear you can accelerate in. Said anouther way if you can't accelerate or hold speed you need to downshift till you can. You may not be the first to the top but you will make it just fine. I have often had more problems with slower traffic on hills where you can't get around them safely. Then you just have to slow down and enjoy the view. I doubt you will be able to tell you are towing so that shouldn't be a factor. Bill
  2. Rick, did your old refrigerator have an ice maker? Bill
  3. After you check your fuel preshure I would run a couple tanks with a rich mix of Diesel Kleen. See if that helps the idle and general performance. Bill
  4. No, but all the ones I have had hands on experience with were just a solenoid that when engaged made contact between the 2 cables. Yes someone probably makes one with a diode to limit/make the current flow directional but I see no benefit to doing it that way. The whole premise is if one set of batteries are low you can use the outhe to boost them. Let me know what you find. Bill
  5. Yes it works both ways, the switch is a momentary switch so you need to hold it down. Bill
  6. I just plugged into the outlet that was for the icemaker. Bill
  7. Well yes and no as the quality varies greatly as others have said. Just for fun and reference go find a used pre 2007 Holiday Rambler, Monaco, Safari, Country Coach or Foretravel and I will add Newmar Try both the diesel and gas. The newer gas coaches with the 6 speed may be all you need. As far as I know all the newer gas coaches are Ford V10 powertrains. Bill
  8. Tim, With a meter start at the battery bank start with the cable that goes to the Battery control center. It should connect to the solenoid that can tie the battery banks together. Check for power there and work out from there. Bill
  9. With that new of a coach I would document it incase you need warranty work. I would test it without the food to see if it happens again. See if you can run the refrigerator ( I assume it is residential?) and see if it shuts off after the same time and check the charge level in the battery's. Bill
  10. Not that far into town and there are park and rides if you don't want to drive into downtown. Bill
  11. I didn't use the conversion formula I just divided by 4. So it isn't quite that good. Bill
  12. Yes, learning the wonderful metric system. Hope I can make it back south before I need fuel. Diesel is running $129.9 a liter. Found a speedometer app that works. Bill
  13. When it shuts off check the voltage at the batteries. It will auto shut off if the voltage is low. Bill
  14. Tonight in Ottawa Canada. at Ottawa's Poplar Grove Campground/ RV Park, 6154 Bank St, Greely, ON K4P 1B4, Canada, ottawaspoplargrovecamp.com, +1 613-821-2973. Made good time I was cruising between 75 and 90 on the way up. My mileage was down to 2.34 MPL Bill
  15. I would go with Texas Custom Coaches in Pipe Creek. Bill
  16. Did they have any Birthday Cake and icecream? Bill
  17. The back in sites at the Niagara North KOA might be ok for a pop up or small trailer. That is ok I get buy just fine at 4' 11" shorter. I didn't have any problem parking. I am here tonight, Merry Knoll Campground, 38115 NY-12E, Clayton, NY 13624, merryknollcampground.com, (315) 686-3055 Great view of the Saint Lawrence River. The spot is level, water, electrical and sewer work as expected. Bill
  18. Here is anouther old iron I saw last week. This was used by Charles Kuralt filming his TV show. https://www.thehenryford.org/collections-and-research/digital-collections/artifact/233612/ The storey is they never slept in it, they stopped at motels/hotels. Bill
  19. Wayne this KOA shouldn't give you a problem. The pull through I am in, I can't leave the car hooked up. Well I could but don't like to stick out to close to the drive. Bill
  20. Drove over and looked at that campground tonight. Not a bad looking place, kind of tight but most in the north east are that way. This KOA is that way. They didn't have a opening in the time frame I needed.
  21. Well we will see as we will be there tomorrow afternoon. Bill
  22. Yes be aware of anything that can auto update, it can be expensive. Bill
