Welcome to the forum. You must have gone north east when you left. I haven't been there this year but 2 years ago they were both fairly rough. Not terrible but about average. Speed limit is 55 towing so that will help. Bill

Finding Good Food On The Road..that someone else cooks
wildebill308 replied to TimeTraveler's topic in General Discussion
When down in that part of the world I always stop at The Apple Store, 14024 State Hwy 16 North, Medina, TX 78055, lovecreekorchards.com, (830) 589-2202. They have a restaurant in the back of the store that is on list of one of the 50 best burgers in Texas. In Fredericksburg you should look up Woerner Warehouse Café, 305 S Lincoln St, Fredericksburg, TX 78624 woernerwarehouse.com, (830) 997-2246 This is hidden in a big warehouse that has lots of stuff riley lots of stuff. It was so good we have ben back every time we are near. Bill -
I switched to Continental's last summer, 275/80 R22.5 load range H. Great tires and saved over $100.00 off the Michelin discount price. Bill

Power Steering Pump for 2005 Monaco Signature
wildebill308 replied to tojomi's topic in Type A motorhomes
There are several way's to do this. First call Cummins with the serial number for your engine and ask them. Or see if there is a part number tag or stamped on the old one. or go to Cummins Quick serve and register your engine, you will need the S/N. This is one of the better things to do because it gives you access to the same data as the dealer. https://quickserve.cummins.com/info/index.html Bill -

You need boats to catch fish and something besides dirty rice for a side. Keep frying those fish and shrimp and scallops. Bill

At the south side of the causeway to South Padre Island check out. Dirty Al's at Pelican Station, 201 S Garcia St, Port Isabel, TX 78578, pelicanstation.co, (956) 943-3344. Along the coast just pick one. Bill

Well Ken I have ben as far "Dow East" as you can go in Main and a little further to Campobello Island to tour the Roosevelt Summer home. If you are in East Port, Stay at Seaview Campground & Cottages as that is the most north east campground in the USA. Be Shure to stop at Raye's Mustard Mill Museum. If you sample some of the different mustards you will end up buying some. Before I forget a little south of Maine in RI there is a great place for fried fish. George's of Galilee, georgesofgalilee.com, just walking distance from Point Judith Light is hard to beat. Bill

Possible retirement in the Waco, TX area
wildebill308 replied to oldgrape's topic in Veterans Corner
Do you have a RV now? Herman has a good idea with Corpus Christi. I would take a trip to the area and look around. You are not far from the Fort Worth, Dallas area or Austin and the Hill country. You also have the biggest Military town period in San Antonio. Bill- 7 replies

Be right up in about 4 mouths. I was up that way last summer. We stayed at Lake Winnipesaukee and New Found Lake New Hampshire. At Lake Winnipesaukee they were having a wooden boat show by New England Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society. There were over 75 amazing wooden boats. Yes we ate some fried perch too. Bill A poster by Alton artist Peter Ferber, this was the show poster.

The 10amp should keep your battery's up. You do know the furnace runs on 12V not 110 don't you? BE ABSOLUTLEY CLEAR to the electrician that you want a 30 amp 110 Volt outlet not a 220 dryer outlet. You will destroy your electrical system if he wires it to 220. My power defaults to the generator when it is running. I would read the owners manual and see how your coach is set up. Do you have auto power switching or manual? Where are you in WNY? Bill

Well yes they do. You have to cancel the hold and renew it each month. Ben doing it that way for about 5 years. The PO box I riley don't have to do anything as when the box is full they start a bigger box on the shelf in the back. I just tell the guy working that section so he doesn't keep trying to pack stuff into the box. Bill

I haven't ben gone for 6 mo. yet. The mail forwarding services look like a good way to go. I have everything that I need to pay on auto or where I can pay on line. There are still a couple I have to call to pay. I have the post office hold all my mail. I have a PO box and t works ok. With the delivery to the house you can do the same thing but it is for a month at a time and you have to renew the hold monthly. Yes it takes a while to sort through the box when you get home. Longest so far is just over 4 mouths. Bill

I think Raccoon Mountain markets better. You know you can go look at the park on Google Earth? Looks like a pretty nice park. Interesting that I could do street view right in the park. Most places apparently don't let the car with all the cameras on it (from Google) to drive around on their property. I have seen them filming several times. Bill

Hand tools, Craftsman or Snap On or ???
wildebill308 replied to punxsyjumper's topic in General Discussion
The problem with having a tool with a lifetime warranty is what good is it if the company goes out of business. Sears is on a down hill spiral because of the current ownership. I do see Ace Hardware is now carrying most of the Craftsman line of hand tools. Bill -

Towing Lexus RX 350 With Acme Tow Dolly
wildebill308 replied to pixtony2008's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
I am trying to figure out how you got a plate for something that doesn't exist. How did you get DMV to issue a plate when there is no paperwork or plate assigned for a dolly? All troopers know that if they run into a situation they have a radio and a phone to get the information they need. Plus they have a dispatcher and a supervisor. Bill -
