That sounds about right,15 quart pan and a quart in the filter. I double checked my records and I take 16 quarts to. Sad they are working you to sell anouther oil change. Simple job to loosen the drain plug till it leaks let it run for a while then recheck the level. I have pulled the plug out (by accident) and reinstalled it with thee oil coming out. It was a little more messy. Keep us updated. Bill

Have you looked around the storage area for some one with new shiney covers? Probably the same people who think it is funny to pull the lock pins on your towbar. Bill

I don't have a lot of data on Cat. Most of my experience /research is related to Cummins. Here is a good read about EGT http://bankspower.com/techarticles/show/25-Why-EGT-is-Important I have a warning buzzer set for 1400 I have seen 1350 when under load. When I see 1350+ I lift on the throttle or downshift. Bill

Glad you got a chance to try it out. Keep in mind that with your pyrometer after the turbo you will get considerable lower temps than with it mounted in front of the turbo. Most sources I have seen say it could be as much as 450*+ hotter. Especially under heavy load/climbing. My experience is if you can't accelerate in a gear to down shift till you can. Now you have a tool to help you. I don't think you will see any difference in the MP-8 settings affecting temperature till you are climbing under load. Bill

Ford Chassis Brakes Making Hissing Noise
wildebill308 replied to ccutaia1's topic in Type A motorhomes
Yes this is normal. Be glad you hear it. You have a hydro boost not a vacuum boost and what you are hearing is probably the fluid in the system. When the engine is running the booster is run off the power steering pump. When the engine is off it is run off a electric motor for the booster. Some units are noisier than others. Bill -
We have used CoPilot for several years and it works great. I don't recommend the "RV" version they came out with lately but the car version does a good job and it is customizable for a RV. I have it on a 10" tablet and the phones. https://copilotgps.com/en-us/car-navigation/ A good feature is you can down load the maps when you have wifi and it doesn't use data. Bill

I heard about these plugs for the Blue Ox base plate. I never got any plugs when I got my baseplate. So I started looking. Amazon had them for a little over $5.50 each but found them on E Trailer for $1.39 ea. https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories-and-Parts/Blue-Ox/BX290-0437.html I think they will keep the inside of the tubes cleaner and less rust. For the rust I recommend the dry film lube from John Deere. Bill

Hay, at least I didn't say hold my beer and watch this!!!! I have felt like we were in a wind tunnel. On the way to Chandler several times coming out from under a overpass that was blocking the wind it hit the coach hard enough to make it down shift. Yes it buffeted the coach but I didn't feel it was out of control. If the wind is bothering you just slow down or take a break and get off the road. Bill

I may be the odd man out here as I don't see any benefit to having one of these products. I don't have a problem with passing trucks blowing me around. I watched a video about how this one product puts steering input into the system "automatically" to compensate for strong cross winds. Realey? Now you have more steering correction to make if the wind is blocked/suddenly stops like going under a overpass then coming out the outher side. Maybe it is because I have had more experience driving in high wind conditions. I do drive in west Texas and the South West more than outher places. There is a reason they have built thousands of wind generators out there. Ask those who went to Chandler this spring how the winds on I-10 where. I never felt that the coach was hard to drive or I needed help with a "steering stabilizer" Bill

ESC has nothing to do with steering in the wind from trucks or cross wind. Bill

It does sound like a switch problem as the brake lights on the toad don't work. Check for power at the switch. I bet there is a separate element in the bulb for the brake light. Bill

I want to add/clarified that you should have the all wheel alignment done loaded like you were going on a trip or to the scale as Jim posted above. Bill

Have you checked the bulbs? Bill

Rubber Strip Around Slide-out Loose-- What Adhesive?
wildebill308 replied to bmiller260's topic in Slideouts
It may be better but I haven't used it so I don't know. What I do know is most adhesives fail because of improper cleaning and surface prep. I have used the 3M product on 3 different airplane programs. Bill -
I have never heard of a add on steering stabilizer. Why not do a little reading as the FIX has ben discussed several times. Bill

Rubber Strip Around Slide-out Loose-- What Adhesive?
wildebill308 replied to bmiller260's topic in Slideouts
Used it building F-35 Joint Strike fighter so it ought to work on a RV. Seriously the prep is the thing. Use a bit of scotch bright and some as acetone to clean both surfaces, clean and roughen the surface. Wearer appropriate protective gloves. Apply as instructed on the box. If it is vertical or overhead you could use some 1" blue tape (painter's tape) to hold it in place till it dries. bmiller260, if you have any questions just ask. Bill -
This place may be a good place to find what you are looking for. At least get part numbers and price so you can shop around. http://www.shockwarehouse.com/index.cfm?mode=make&type=M&gclid=Cj0KEQjwwLHLBRDEq9DQxK2I_p8BEiQA3UDVDkOUYbwUDyLQ8S-sn0zNB06n1MH61mr3tkTeAxd_8N0aAuGz8P8HAQ Bill
