  1. Welcome to the forum. Where are you and where do you want to hang out? I would start calling places ahead of time. The old days of just showing up and expecting to get what you want may be over. As you are full time I would guess you want to spend the winter season in the south. The problem is the majority of good places are already filled. I would start talking to places now. There is a lot of places so you should find some place. Let us know what you find. Bill
  2. Welcome to the forum. Yes and make shure the ATS is switching to the generator. Bill
  3. Well how much is showing on the tank gage? The only way to git fresh water on the roof would be hooking up to the "black tank flush" then it wouldn't be to fresh. Something to do before putting the slides in is to raise one end of the coach to drain any water off the tops of the slides. My last coach taught me to do that. If you put the slides in and it tipped down in the front it would pore water down over you in the drivers seat. It was always cold. Bill
  4. Welcome to the forum. Many people have had that problem. One thing you can do is add insulation and sound deadening material to the engine compartment. Look at places like this for ideas. https://www.summitracing.com/search?SortBy=BestKeywordMatch&SortOrder=Ascending&keyword=Sound deadening material Bill
  5. Yes it could be not closing all the way or leaking past. Try moving the valve back and forth a few times to see if it seals. Bill
  6. Congratulations! That is a good reason to stick around. Bill
  7. Welcome to the forum. Bill
  8. I would think that Escapees location in Livingston, TX would be a good place to do that because they are far enough outside Houston that the traffic at that DMV location would be less also they are use to dealing with full timers. Bill
  9. We were in that area 2 weeks ago. We stayed at Maple Ridge Campground. It was just a overnight and a little off the main drag but it was what was open/alible. Bill
  10. Welcome to the forum. Now lets go camping. There are so many things to see and do on the road. Bill
  11. I would look realey hard at Texas and Escapees. https://www.escapees.com/. I have heard few complaints about anything including the mail service. Bill
  12. I am a slide junkie. I have had slides and won't go back. Bill
  13. I have had times I was happy to make tomorrow. Bill
  14. I would look at doing some upgrades on your current coach before upgrading to a newer than 2007 Newmar. You don't have DEF or a particulate filter. Bill
  15. It is a interesting drive. But like Ray said the places to stop when towing are limited and may be full. Also be super aware that people have been known to stop in the road to look or take pictures. It can be a surprise around a blind corner. Bill
  16. Welcome to the forum. What make and model is the awning? Bill
  17. Well glad you got it fixed. Trying to convince people that the water coming off the roof was just from the A/C would have been hard. Bill
  18. Try to find out what kind of plastic it is and buy the JB Weld that will stick to it. It should hold. You could also look at places like Summit Racinghttps://www.summitracing.com/ or Jegs https://www.jegs.com/ They sell custom shift handles. Bill
  19. Carl, no action picturers but hear is a big awning laying in the dirt. I think it is a mental thing that when some people set up their RV it includes putting out the awnings. It seams like a automatic thing. We had anouther realey windy afternoon today. Carl Horse back riding yesterday, whitewater rafting and 4X4 trips today and tomorrow. Bill
  20. I don't have a big powerful rig like you Carl. I got slowed down pretty good over the Continental divide, mostly because of slow traffic. There is no ease road in or out of this area. What's fun on the way to Gillett we stayed on the outher side of the mountains on 34 we are on 34 on the west side now. Thought about going that way but you have to go through RMNP and they have had long lines. Bill
  21. This is just a reminder to be carful about having your awnings out. I am at Granby CO. and they have a wind event nearly every afternoon. When we got hear Monday the event was so bad it blew several awnings off. Saw one where 3 people were trying to hold the awning down so they could bring it in. It lifted them off their feet. It finally got loose and ripped off over the coach. The wind sensor doesn't always react fast enough to save the awning from damage. Bill
  22. Welcome to the forum. The Op hasn't been back since 2018. But I believe chocking the rear wheels is a good safety practice. What Ford Chaise do you have? Bill
  23. Nice looking coach. Welcome to the form. Now lets go camping. Bill
