Fuel Economy-- Was This A Primary Consideration?
manholt replied to mweiner's topic in Type B Motorhomes
Mark. Welcome back and Happy New Year! MB has pulled it's Diesel engine (on any chassis, including cars) off the American market, because we use Bio in our diesel mix. MB engine's (diesel) are not built for additive's, it causes their turbo to blow! They also (read the fine print) will not honor the warranty on a diesel engine failure, that has bio in fuel. IMHO I don't agree with their decision, I feel that they should have known and adjusted for our market. I did not say that she or you would have "Cabin Fever", I said that I would have it, due to my size! Please Mark, there is nothing positive to be gained, by taking things out of context. Whatever you have, to enjoy traveling in, is a matter of personal choice...that's what is so great about America, everyone can chose how they live, when and where they want to go, no restriction, no permission from the authorities...Freedom is the reason I adopted to live here, rather than where I was born!- 43 replies

Making it Personal - Do you have an RV Motto?

Freedom...is never free! Home away from home! -
Garryrowena. Welcome to the Forum! As Bill asked, we need to know the location?

The electric side does not heat bays and do a poor job of keeping warm air coming out of furnace, below 60. Diesel side is your main heather...your not saying how cold, for how long! Year, Make, model and size of coach would be nice to know!

I have mine serviced at the same time that oil change is due...once per year or 16,000 miles, which ever comes first.

FIVE. Welcome to 2018. I remember your problems, thankfully I have not had any gremlins in my Magnums, just bad batteries problems and now have AGM's again! Just does not draw enough to concern me and now I have 50A. at all of Linda and my sticks and brick's!

I put 68 gallons in my tank 10 days ago, Aqua Hot has been on 24/7 on diesel and I have driven 287 miles and now have 79 gallons left on a 150 gallon tank. Yesterday I drove 153 miles from Ranch in Texas Hill Country to the Camp in Three Rivers, Texas...since it was bellow freezing most of the way, I had generator on and floor tile heat on! I'll be on Aqua Heat for the next 72+ hours, until we go to Harlingen, Texas almost by the Mexican border! I will fill my fuel tank before I get there. Welcome to 2018.

Robert. Welcome to the Forum and 2018! To my knowledge, the modern day FJ is not towable and I have not seen one as a toad, 4 down or with a Dolly! Suggest you check with Remco.

Tom. My bright side, is that I don't remember 1949...I was not quite 6 years old !!! Rich. You need to sue Al Gore!

Do You Have A Motorcycle With You While RV'ing?

Super8. Welcome to 2018. Hydralift makes several different hydraulic systems for back of coach, I have a HD Trike that I took with me for a number of years and it had a hitch also, for my Jeep as a toad. If a Golf cart will fit, so will a MC with side car! My trike is 71 inches wide and 108 inches long! For Sale. -

Eddie. Welcome to 2018. My floor is tile, backsplash also. Everything else, including window sills, is Corian! Have had no problem with it, in this coach, or the previous 2. It's everything Kay say's it is! -
Welcome to 2018! I'm currently in Three Rivers, Texas and it's well below freezing...we left the Hill Country of Texas yesterday and it has been below freezing there for a week. All 4 of my slide toppers have been off for about 3 weeks now, (being replaced as soon as other parts come in and the Holidays are over), I have had less of a problem with rain, sleet and ice accumulating, without than with the toppers! There is insulation between the inside an outside of my slide roof. I found that it's also easier to remove debris, water and ice, without the toppers....maybe that's why the very high end coaches have flush slides and no Toppers? My Bay's are heated by the Aqua Hot furnace and have never been below freezing or at freezing...I have flowing water currently and it's 27!

Joe S. Happy 2018 So, how much do they require from you per month on the New plan? I have a old (7 year) plug in, that Verizon really would like back. It's 5GB per month, no throttling back, works almost anywhere. Since I don't stream anything and the 4 pdf's I get each year, is saved to file, I have no use for "The New and Improved" version at $60+!

Al. Thanks for the input. Everything helps someone! If your going to Perry in March, look me up. You & Sharon have a great 2018

That's what I need, mine are starting to look bad. When I had the Allegro Bus, I had to put in some strips of no slip, sand paper....the stone was very slippery, when wet. Looks pretty, but just Bling, totally useless! -
The Rocky Mountain Oysters at Big Texan are hard to beat. Delicious!!! Personally, I don't much care for the steaks there! I have pork chop or the Lamb! Have you stayed at the Riverside in Little Rock? One of my Favorite. The Yogi Bear in Nashville is also good.

Tom. Welcome back! Goggle Interstate 395 Washington DC...It's 13.39 miles long. Have a great 2018

Guess, I could have left the, "personal taste" part, out of that statement ! The things one must endure, among friends. Tom. We are going to be at the Fig Tree RV Resort in Harlingen, Texas the 4th-18th of January. Linda, has 3 water wells. 1 for the house and it's treated with a water softener, same with my house on the Island, even though, I'm on city water. It does make a difference! Never thought about having it in a coach.

Jeff753. I certainly hope your not. If you list your coach information below your signature, it would be easier to help you, like we did after Springfield, Ma. Rally! Have a great 2018. Carl -
That's happen on more than one occasion. Also check your fuse, it may be under your second step cover or in a Plexiglas box under the step...it's where your computer board is located or at least it was on my WB Tour!
