If I was going to be full time in my coach I would upgrade to a 45. Don't let people talk you into a small coach. They usually say you need a small coach to get in to state and National parks. I have never had a problem finding a place to stay in campgrounds. My last trip was to more than 20 states and over 4300 miles North East. We stayed in 16 different campgrounds and didn't have any problems. My wife doesn't like to not have reservations so when we leave in 3 weeks for Minot ND for the rally we will have spots picked out. Let me know if you have any questions. Bill

Lots of amazingly good places up there. But The Federal Hill neighborhood in Providence has more great Italian places than you can count. But back to the OPs area of interest. Here are some places in Freeport. For a good place to eat try Tuscan Brick Oven Bistro, 140 Main St, Freeport, ME 04032. tuscanbrickovenbistro.com There are lots of good places to eat like Jameson Tavern, 115 Main St, Freeport, ME 04032. jamesontavern.com. had a good pizza at Petrillo's, 15 Depot St, Freeport, ME 04032. petrillosfreeport.com. This one is close to the RV parking by the Bean outlet. Questions, just ask. Bill

What do you like to do? I would start with Freeport (You could spend a week in Freeport) and The Portland area. Don't miss When Pigs Fly, 21 Main St, Freeport, ME 04032 one of the best bakeries in the area. Also The Maine State Aquarium, McKown Point Rd, West Boothbay Harbor, ME 04575. Or Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, 132 Botanical Gardens Dr, Boothbay, ME 04537. Brunswick, ME is another small college town with interesting shops and good dining places like The Great Impasta, 42 Maine St, Brunswick, ME 04011 If you want good Pizza try Portland Pie Co. in Brunswick or one of their outher stores. But what do I know it has been 3 weeks since I was in the area. Bill

I would probably go with the M&G air system if I was doing it now. I realey did it backwards. I bought my towbar and brake system from someone who was not able to travel anymore, before I had something towable 4 down. Bill

Hay, I have been to that dam.... Bill

What have you done so far to improve the drive/ride? Bill

Welcome to the forum. I think you are trying to say Base Plate. I would not want to get into any kind of accident and not have a auxiliary braking system. Bill

I got my EZ-Pass in New Hampshire at a walk in office. I was going to get one before we left Texas but didn't start soon enough. (They were going to mail it to me in Texas) So when friends told me about the walk in office when we were visiting that is what I did. They gave me one for the motorhome and one for the CR-V and told me to put the toad one in the foil envelope when towing. The CR-V is billed as a trailer at a lower rate when being towed. There is no charge when not using my EZ-Pass, if I have a positive balance it will be refunded if I close the account. Just so you know Congress passed a law saying "NATIONALPASS multi-protocol tag will meet the federal deadline requiring that all U.S. electronic toll collection systems be interoperable by October 1, 2016." We see how well that is working. I have heard many excuses but the most common is geting the chip and chip readers to work https://www.nationalpass.net/ I haven't had any problems and driving through the open lanes beats stopping at the toll booths. Like Ray said, sometimes the transmision is the weak spot. I think the 5 star tuner is a fairly common upgrade. I haven't heard of any problems and lot of praise for how it helps the shifting on the ford transmission. I am not shure how much performance/mileage upgrade you will get but I am told the drivability is greatly improved. That would be a upgrade I would do if I had a gas coach. Bill

If you are upgrading that soon, I would save the cost of adding a safe t plus bar and put it towards a Newmar with Comfort Drive. https://www.newmarcorp.com/why-newmar/newmar-difference/comfort-drive/ Keep in mind if "We are going to next year work from the road", having more storage is better. I would have a 45ft coach if I was on the road working full time for a year. I just got back from a short 50 day trip and there were times I could have used some more space. Bill

OUCH!!! Try getting on the parks wifi. May save some data charges. One place I stayed at had "free wifi" for 30 min a day each device. Bill

Welcome to the forum. If you add the information about your coach to your signature you won't have to add it if you ask a question and you will get good answers faster. Bill

I would watch the data charges to. Bill

Re read what I posted earlier on this post. I don't care if they were the greatest deal ever I will never do business with them. They are unethical and I won't do business with someone who tries to steal from you then lies about it. Bill

Welcome to the forum. Now would be a good time to add your coach /details to your signature. I use GasBuddy for locating fuel and keeping record of mileage cost. Sometimes Google maps to see if I can get in. I have a file in my computer for all the outher expenses/maintenance items. One thing I have found helpful is to start a list of all the part numbers you have needed or may need for maintenance / repairs. Bill

That is true. But the amount of say WD-40 left on the shaft after wiping it down would be far less of a problem than running them dry with dirt on the shafts. Bill
-
Ok so now what is the height of your RV? Bill
-
I have the Powergear hydraulic jacks and have heard where they recommend WD-40. I also have a zerk fitting on the bottom of the ram housing. Keeping this lubed also helps them retract. When I was working we had to wipe the hydraulic struts on the landing gear with hydraulic fluid if they had been extended as when jacked so they didn't damage the seals when they retracted. I don't have the ones that work both ways. Mine are hydraulic down and spring powered up. Bill
