Weak 12VDC Power, Unique Issue... Please Help
wildebill308 replied to BROWNSQUAD's topic in Electrical
Jim, I have 3, one in the wet bay two in the coach set to come on at 40*. I really not concerned with the cost. If I thought it was going to go below 20* I would leave both furnaces on set on the lowest setting. The good news hear in Texas the cold snap will only last 3 days then it will be back to lowes in the 40's. Billl- 26 replies

Weak 12VDC Power, Unique Issue... Please Help
wildebill308 replied to BROWNSQUAD's topic in Electrical
Sometimes the 750 setting isn't enough, depending on how cold it is going to be. I went down to my coach today and made shure my heaters were set up to keep things above freezing. We are expecting the first freeze of the season with temperatures forecast to be in the mid to low 20s. I don't care if my bill goes up as long as nothing freezes. I also think BROWNSQUAD'S problem is the batteries. drawing more current than normal. Bill- 26 replies

The fitting is on the rim at the bottom of the top part of the ram (if you have them) they may be hard to see if crusted with old grease and dirt. Regularly spraying the shafts with silicone will help to keep them working. Remember they only retract on the spring pressure. Like other parts of your coach they benefit from being "exercised". Running them through full travel should purge any air from the system. Bill

Our Holiday Travel Misadventure-- So Far

I want to video Herman doing the maneuver he described. Bill -
I didn't see if you sprayed down the shaft with Silicone or otherwise lubed the shafts. One outher thing look and see if you have grease fittings on the bottom of the top part of the hydraulic cylinder. Also try running them up and down 5 0r 6 times. Bill

Mypopslou, I would not use the fill valve to connect your extend a stay. The last extend a stay I hooked up I installed it in line, after the shut off and regulator on my coach. This way I can run off the external tank and keep my onboard tank in reserve. I used a regulator on my external tank. One thing to look at is they make quick disconnects rated for propane and it makes it easier to attach the external tank or latter hooking up an external grill to your onboard tank. Bill

If you are in a park plugged in why do you need to run a extension cord? Bill

Quit encouraging people, the last time I was at Dirty Al's at Pelican Station there was a wait. Bill

My thought is yes it is higher than what Cat specks but you aren't having any problem with it blowing the seal on the oil filter. Before I spent 600-800 dollars I would try running a oil like Rotella T-6 that is a 5-40 oil. and run the block heater for a couple hours before starting when it is cold. Bill

I would talk to a different dealer. I just bought 4 tires for my toad as a stand alone deal with no problem. Where are you located? Also be aware when the dealer quoted a price it is not the price from Michelin through the program. Get the part number for the tires from the dealer and call the FMCA office to get the program price. You can go here to find dealers: http://www.michelinrvtires.com Bill

One way is Members should visit http://www.michelinrvtires.com to locate an authorized Michelin RV tire dealer. I would use the website and call to be sure they are participating in the program and have or can get the tires you want. I counted at least 5 dealers in the area. Bill

We are 505 miles north of Pharr Texas. From Pharr it is 741 to Amarillo and 886 to Boise City, OK on 385 at the Oklahoma border. Here is something to consider it is only 306 miles from NYC to Portland Maine. Or just the distance from Pharr to Austin. Bill

You make me smile when you talk about "The cold weather in San Antonio." I live in the frigid North Fort Worth area. Bill

Welcome to the forum. Look at Texas and the south Rio Grande Valley area. Look at places around McAllen We haven't spent the winter there but visited for a rally at Texas Trails RV Resort, 501 W Owassa Rd, Pharr, TX 78577, texastrailsrv.com, (956) 782-7886. They had lots of things to do and lots in the area to see. TButler lives in the valley in the winter and can give more information. What I would do is go and stay for a week or two and scout the other places to see what is available and what suits your budget. Bill

Welcome to the forum. I don't think it will hurt your filter if you are using a quality filter. I am wondering what oil are you using? Bill
-
Yes but at the price you payed it won't hurt to replace them. I bought the better blades at $9.99 at Waley world, they look just like the ones Camping world wants $60.00 on sale. Bill

50 Amp Does Not Indicate 50 Amp At Intellitec
wildebill308 replied to rcieslak67's topic in Electrical
I think you might call that a "self test" and just move to a different spot. Bill -
I think people use super long blades because they think it needs to cover the whole windshield. Welcome to the world of cheaper wiper blades. Bill

It dosen't count unless it rained the whole way. Bill

Yep my Surge Guard saved me a couple of times this last year. I like the portable because I can use it like a tester. In one campground where I couldn't get good power on my site I was told I could move. So I took my Surge Guard and started testing different sites. Bill
