dbrown048, Welcome to the Forum. Sometime the overhead liners in motorhomes are put in as panels. Maybe you could remove the saging panel and take it to a auto upholstery shop and have them re glue it. Herman

US Navy Parachute Rigger 3rd Class 1956 to 1964
hermanmullins replied to five's topic in General Discussion
A bit different in the Navy and Marine Corp. In 1959 when I went to PR at Lakehurst, NJ, we were required to pack our own chute and jump with it. I was the first man, first stick, in the first load on the first day of April 1959. I was asked by a lieutenant (equal to an Army Captain), to pack his chute for his jump. He was a Major Frank Burns before there was a Frank Burns. I packed his chute and after the jump he said it was the hardest opening shock he ever had. I was very proud of myself. Herman -
Richard, if all else fails could you trim the cover plate like Factor shows and secure it to the old plate. With the two mounting screws and Gorilla Glue and a bit of paint you should be good to go. It should last until you are able to find old/new stock of the old plate. Herman

Joe, though they will work, a lot of electric appliances don't like the MSW. They prefer the PSW. The working life on those that don't like MSW is much, much shorter. As said if you have to replace the MSW go with the PSW for a few bucks more. (IMHO) Herman

To me it looks like the superstructure is made of wood. Am I seeing it correct? If I am correct it would be 2x2 wood versus 2x2 metal. Herman

Our Holiday Travel Misadventure-- So Far
hermanmullins replied to huffypuff's topic in General Discussion
Carl it is a bit of a process but here is how I do it. 1) I take the picture or pictures with my phone. 2) I send them to me by email. 3) I save the picture, and try to remember where I put them. 4) Then I can attach then to my message or post. May no be the best but works for me. Herman -

I am sorry Factor, reading instruction tho being helpful, does not replace actual experience. Reading books does not make an expert. It takes actual hands on to actually gain experience. As an example, I had a good friend that would read everything about a welding machine but could not even turn it on. Please understand I am not discouraging you from asking questions but it will never help you till you have an RV and have an issue then is when someone can help.. So my advice would be to get an RV of some sort, use it and find out the issues and pleasure of owning an RV. Herman

$$$$$$$$ We are replacing our pleated shades ourselves. I got them at Lowes. They can order the correct width and length or cut to size in the store if the colors are what you want. Had some issues on the first one (learning curve). Now I am ready to attack the rest. Less then $150.00 per window plus my labor. Herman -

Air Force 1 vs Roadmaster Brakemaster Systems
hermanmullins replied to punxsyjumper's topic in Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Jon, Welcome to the Forum. The M&G Brake doesn't rely on the Battery to work and doesn't have to override the power brake booster to work. It works by applying directly the pressure directly to the master cylinder. I have used the M&G Brake for 12 years on 4 different vehicles with no issues at all. Give Monty a call at 903-675-2812. When I fill up I always lower the side opposite of where I am filling. Doing this I will get at least 5 more gallons in the tank. (yes truckers look at me funny). According to my coaches spec. sheet, I have a 130 Gallon. When I fill up my trip tank will say I have 124 gallons and will stay there for almost 200 miles before it comes off 124 gallons. Any time my gauge reads 1/2 tank I begin to look for a fuel stop. Herman -
Carl, to edit your signature try this. When on a topic go to the upper right corner of the page to your name. Click on the down arrow and a menu will come up. On the menu click on Account Sittings. When Account Setting come up go to the left side and click Signature. When your Signature comes up make your changes and Save. That is how I corrected my Signature. Herman

No I went into my profile and deleted my old signature and rewrote it. Thanks, Herman

A bit off the subject, the one thing I find wrong with the light weight hose are the connections. They all seem to be made of light weight and very thin material. Drop it and it will dent and never seat again. However the heavier hose tend to have much better connections. But and a big but in cold weather they are like rolling up re-bar. Now off the soap box. So true. I have recruited New Chapters through the Forum. Some were already FMCA Members and several were not and joined both FMCA and our chapter at the same time. Herman
