I believe it will require a tow dolly.  I have a 07 Prius and I tow it on the dolly.

There is not much in the front end to mount a tow bar connection to.

I have a 2013, it must be towed with a dolly.  After driving it aboard, simply hit the OFF button and after strapping it is ready to roll.  A great toad, 54 mpg is our avg, versus our rig's 6 mpg.

I tow my Prius with a KarKaddy by Demco.  Works just fine all the time... ;)
